Ever dialed it??

The Time had this song about a phone number.

It was called 777-9311. Tommy Tutone I believe had a song called 867-5309. There was an old lady that had tht number in some city. People really dialed that number and had her phone ringing constantly.

I wonder if that ever happened with 777-9311.
Working up a purple sweat.

This was Dez Dickerson's phone number during that period. Dez was not amused by Prince's use of the number according to what I have read.

Does anyone have that footage? I cant remember them on Soul Train. I have Vanity solo on Soul Train when Don Cornelius damn near drools on her. She looked fantastic and gave a solid performance - for lip synching.

Vanity 6 appeared on Soul Train in 1982.They performed "Nasty Girl" and "He's So Dull".During the interview with Don Cornelius,Vanity tried to deny that Prince had anything to do with their album ("He was too busy working on his own album")...I was like "yeah, right" lol

I currently live almost across the street from Dez's mother house in North St. Paul and my childhood home was in the same neighborhood so interestingly my old phone number was only one number off of 777-9311. But being as I live near the official epicenter of the phone number in question I can tell you that I just called it and it seems to be a fax line or something. Just some wierd noises. At the time the Twin cities only had one area code but now the song would be 651-777-9311 big grin

I've called it. Some voice mail message comes up about picking up your bible and reading it. Weird.
