Rocky Garrity took over as bass player for the Time when Terry Lewis was fired. He was with the band at a 1st Ave concert I went to a few months before Purple Rain began shooting (I bought scalper tickets to get in). Suddenly Rocky was gone. Replaced by Jerry Hubbard. Does anyone know the 411 on Rocky leaving? I've always wanted to know.

Actually, his name was Rocky Harris. I don't know what the deal was. I do know that he was in Jesse Johnson's band for a couple of albums.

During the filming of "Purple Rain", he kept showing up late for the call time, and it pissed Prince off, so he fired him as soon as all of The Time's scenes were finished. Jessie said he would call Rocky at home when they would all be on the set ready to shoot, waiting around for him to show up. Jessie said Rocky would still be in bed sleep and shit.
