Can anyone who has purchased this give me the lowdown?

What's the tracklisting? How 'bout the photo album? Is it worth $50?
Thanks in advance for the info!!!!

The photo album you mention, I presume is the booklet you get with it - A4 size, b&w, with details of each track, and some photos from various points in Dez's career towards the back. It's fanzine quality printed.

The 2CD set itself is of similar 'amateur' quality in terms of appearance, in a slimline DVD case with a printed b&w cover.

The music makes up for the substandard packaging, Modernaires is pretty much the only 'purple'-sounding track on there (oh, and Dez's own version of After High School), the rest of the set sounds like 80s rock/pop, I'd liken it to stuff like Billy Idol, Pat Benatar, Wang Cheung. Imagine being dressed like one of the kids from The Breakfast Club and dancing in your bedroom, this would probably be the stuff you'd be listening to biggrin

There's a lot of standout tracks, I can imagine if Dez had had the right backing and promotion, and had released this material back in the 80s, he could've had a few big singles on his hands.

I'd say if you like 80s rock/pop, you'll like this set smile

Oh yeah, there is a extended version of Modernaire featuring a guest slot by Dez's former boss (His royal badness) Prince on guitar. This was re-discovered I'll assume in 2004 or some time in 2005. The extended version may see the light soon. I'm still trying 2 get the song. I haven't heard it in full yet. I know, it's Purple. We can only hope 4 the extended version soon from Dez's Official Site.
