I hate Yanni too. He starts out with a good idea and then never goes anywhere with it. I don't get the attraction.

Thanks for asking about the Dames. I am thinking of reuniting them in a music video and using the music as part of the soundtrack for the beauty documentary. Since Bassdame is going to be in it, I figure that's appropriate. Other than that, I'm not sure how much further to take things with the Dames. We can take it a day at a time. If something happens - fine. If not - fine too. Sometimes the past is just the past. It's sort of like the movie "Rocky." I kinda wish Stallone had just left it alone and not had parts two thru five.

Well, that's my opinion. I don't know what Bassdame and UptownDame think. I know Tracy the guitarist is interested in a reunion. I think I'd like to do it just for fun. Life is short, you know. wink

As far as getting Krystal's picture, I just asked for it and she gave it to me. You'll have to ask her why it was so easy for me. biggrin

I think that's a great idea to blend the Dames reunion with your documentary! I would love to see your video when it's finished. I wonder if there is way to get a transcript of Sunday's chat. I am obsessed with finding out what Krystal666 looks like-and I am a TOTALLY straight woman-what's that all about?? Have fun in your chat!

It's been so long since I've posted here. This thread has become very dizzying and hard to keep up with. I never asked for "the story"-probably because I didn't want to be rejected bawl

I'm not sure how much interest I have about Prince's sexual past (some, not a lot) but I am very interested in the musical future, if any, of The Dames.

I wish I could make the chat at the holy river but I can't.

So, artpal and bassdame-are you making music now or will you work together again in the near future? Also, how the hell did you get Krystal666 to send you a picture of her??? I have been so curious about what she looks like!

Thanks to you too, Krystal, Uptown Dame, Moonwalk, and Vanity.

Krystal, you're right. You're the one who pulled this story out of us. wink You know, you have great people/persuasion skills. Keep that in mind if you ever want a career change (that's a compliment). They need good interrogators at Guantanamo Bay. Just kidding. razz Don't worry it's cool - thanks for the explanation.

Damn those pics are big. Tried to make them smaller but they became the size of postage stamps. Oh well.

oh geez, what a turn of events.

i am from houston and had to evacuate in the wake of hurricane rita. just got home a while ago and logged in and saw THIS.

I have to say, half way through the thread, before i even saw the pics, it was obvious jizzy was the fake. i tend to lean toward a possible member of the prince camp (or mani) camp myself.

artpal and bassdame, we all absolutely love your stories, private as well as musical. as a beginning keyboardist, i most definately find the musical stories intriguing and interesting...likewise as a longtime prince fan, i find the other stories just as interesting and intriguing.

don't let fools like jizzy (who btw, has not surfaced lately since yall posted your pics) discourage you!

hope to see yall in chat tonight...trying to get loose ends tied up followwing this darned hurricane!

peace!

Funny how I saw artpal mention herself in an earlier post as a savvy middle aged dame...and though I am in full comprehension of the "savvy" part, I'm still wondering where the HECK do you see yourself as MIDDLE AGED? You, dear, are cute as a button, and I don't see that fading for a long whil, indeed!

I must say overall, the ladies we've found from Uptown Dames are absolutely lovely! In my industry, y'all remind me of the kind of models we look for for "real life" beauty campaigns like the latest one I worked on for DOVE...just real, and BEAUTIFUL...I swear, I'd take you Dames in a beauty campaign over twats like Kate and Naomi ANY DAY wink...

Thanks, Ottensen! Actually we do modeling on the side though Bassdame says she's getting tired of that. I am an SAG actress as well and do on camera video and print work. I can send you my glamour photo if you like. batting eyes

I'm proud of being middle aged - I announce it to show that I am wise and experienced. It also tells you that I was alive and conscious during the sixties seventies and eighties - which tells you what kind of conversations we can have. You can't tell in the photos but I'm starting to have a little bit of gray hair, which I will never color cuz I want people to know I am wise and experienced. It also gives me more credibility as a music composer - most people see a white male with wild white hair when they try to picture a "composer." In other words, I'm proud of my inside as well as my outside. biggrin

You worked on the Dove campaign? My friends and I LOVE those ads. I think that is one of the angles that Artpal is using in her documentary. What was your participation? Maybe she could use your commentary on how that campaign was discussed in the boardroom and the feedback you're getting from it..

Yeah - I love the Dove campaign as well. I do hope to interview you or someone about that.

Let me say this - all those prince babe photos you see from paisley park - they're all an illusion. Just like the rest of the glamour industry. There are makeup artists, professional photographers with lighting specialists, computer touch ups - no wonder the average woman is insecure about their looks -including us.

Those mug shots that jizzy made us do did not involve all those illusions. Tell you the truth, we felt self conscious about that. But screw it. I'd like to see Mayte's mug shot. razz

That's so true. I worked in advetising and was on a photoshott with all these models. It's shocking how the "transformation" takes place.

Tyra Banks showed how even she gets touched up via cmoputer: she showed the poster for her show and how they totally "stretched" it to make her thinner. Crazay!!!

I am of firm beleif that "BlaqueKnight" is the imposter!Seriously!
I have a few sources that may be able to back this accusation up-whether or not they choose to post here and get involved is another matter and completely up to them.
There is evidence of pictures being emailed to BlaqueKnight.
these pictures came directly from a real member of the uptown dames,at blaqueknights inncessant request.
blaqueknight was told not to share these pictures under ant circumstances.
low and behold 3 days after aquiring the pictures,we get some new members here at the org and over at housequake, these new members go by the names artpal and bassdame.
well, wouldn't ya know, mysteriously, the very pictures that blaqueknight was told not to leak-leaked! here there and everywhere!
besides the leaked pic's,he has been posting pure fabrication and passing them off as fact!I thought the Prince-sex stories would be more than enough for everybody to see that this is bullsquat!
blaqueknight, your playa card has been revoked!
should have left it alone and not have gotten so greedy!
you may have even gotten away with it.
NOT!

I think the recent Dove ad is a great campaign.
Hopefully there'll be more along these lines that celebrate the body types of every day women.

Couldn't help but be a bit gleeful when I heard that the skeletal remains that are Kate Moss...

Please don't make TOO much fun of Kate Moss's size. You can't tell by the frumpy shirt I have on but I'm more her size. wink

But yeah - I hope we can learn to appreciate the beauty in all types of women. In my documentary, the women all look different but were all somehow labeled beautiful. Interesting really - one is in a wheel chair, another the healthier Dove type size, and then of course there were the usual thin model types. I even interviewed older beauties to get their retrospective opinion on being beautiful.

The doc doesn't really try to redefine or define beauty. It simply asks beautiful women what is or was like to be considered beautiful. Is it all it's cracked up to be? I got some really surprising answers.

In the end, I came away with the impression that we are all very conflicted about beauty. We declare outside beauty as being superficial, but judge others by their appearance and freak out at any one little imperfection we might have.

The subject is so taboo that the beautiful women had trouble talking about it. Yet their beauty so affected their lives. One young woman was told that the film was about "young women in the work place". When I told her that it was REALLY about her being BEAUTIFUL she freaked. If I hadn't punked her there was no way she would have volunteered for the interview.

I know this is a shameless plug but you get to read about prince and sex in exchange.

My view is not myopic towards Kate Moss. It's the fact that everywhere you look women are being given the false impression that you have to weigh less than 100 pounds or you're fat. And the sad part is that so many of them that are larger, but in good health, are falling for it.

Now as this relates to you, i'm willing to bet that you're not on some goofy diet, purging or doing cocaine to be that size. Am I right? That is your natural size. I'm talking about women that are trying to emulate someone who is abnormally skinny. Kate Moss in this case.

When I was coming up these were some of the women whose bodies were considered ideal...

All of a sudden, it became this...

That's quite a drastic change. To my eyes, those 2 women look seriously ill.

shocked Oh man - no I'm not THAT skinny. Geeze that's scary looking. But I am naturally petite and no I'm not on a crazy diet. In fact, I was always trying hard to gain weight. When I was little, my father the physician gave me pills to make me eat more. Fortunately, with age, I put on some weight and I'm happier. I even get more compliments cuz of the extra pounds. Really. I don't think men REALLY like those anorexic skeletons you see in those photos. Lord lord lord...

You are right artpal! Lots of women don't like it when skinny girls judge curvy women for being the size they are but alot of women don't realise the women who are size two don't necessarily starve themselves. Many women are just naturaly short and petite. nod I have lots of friends who are tiny they look healthy but small. They have healthy eating habits and people still accuse them of having eating disorders. You can tell when someone has an eating disorder usually because they look gaunt and lack muscle definition and have skinny face...I think Kate Moss and Calista Flockheart are perfect examples of someone with an eating disorder but there are lots of women who are just small but look healthy like Jada Pinket Smith...she is all of 5'2 and small but has a nice shaply body. I am taller and curvy but I know lots of women come in all different shapes and sizes and colors and there is no ONE look that is beautiful it is all about the individual woman!

P.S. artpal and bassdame you girls have hardly changed since the early ninties! You are both just as beautiful as ever!!!! biggrin
