I ordered the DVD..... hasn't come yet.
I used to have his 1st solo album on cassette, the one with Rich man. I could never find it on CD though, and I don't see him selling it on his site. anyone know if it's available? I can't find my cassette. And for y'all jones'ing for the Family... (which is one of my fav's)... just burn the vinyl or cassette copy to CD. I posted insturctions on how to do that in another thread.

I have Rich man as a 12 inch vinyl. I would LOVE to find The Family's CD. About 12 years ago I was in Hollywood and found the japan import of it; I didn't have enough cash cuz I had so much other Prince shit in my hand at the time so I put it back and said I'd come back the next day...Yeah, right! THAT SHIT WAS LONG GONE! I was PISSED becuase it wasn't but maybe 14 bucks tops. Someone shoot me. Please. NOW! "But what of black women? . . . If you like "The Family" you'll LOVE the DVD!!
I don't know of Paul selling "The Family" CD though. You can also try gemm.com for his stuff. I found a LOT there. Including the Japan release of "The Family" CD. Wasn't cheap, but WELL worth it!

His voice on River Run Dry is incredible. Sexy and beautiful.

M I think his voice on EVERYTHING is beautiful. I always get bashed for saying this, but I think Paul's voice is so much richer in tone and sounds better on the Family songs than P's voice himself. So how do i get St. Paul's 1st album on CD?

Rich Man was such a blatant rip-off of High Fashion though. "But what of black women? . . . I most sincerely doubt if any other race of women could have brought its fineness up through so devilish a fire." -- W.E.B. Du Bois --

Nice one. He still does "stranger to love". I fucking love that song.
Any st paul fans should get rhythm syndicates album. St paul helped co-write the great lil' ballad "shoulder to cry on".

First, the DVD came yesterday and am watching it now I just checked his website again, and in the "store" section I don't see his 1st CD.... just the Limited Edition mix cD, "Everything" and Blue cadillac reissue. I actually have Down To The Wire. (though I don't see it on there). I'm looking for the 1st one with "Rich man".... I had the cassette and lost it. http://www.thepetersonfam...Merch.html [Edited 9/11/05 20:23pm]

I have Down to the Wire also but only listen to it once. I bought it because it was in the store and was cheap.

You can usually find St. Paul's first CD on www.gemm.com. Although it's not cheap, it's very worth it!! I have it. You can email me and I will see if I have another copy of it. I picked up some extra at the Bunkers gig in Feb.
