Jesse Johnson Guitar etc.

I was just surfing through ebay and I happened to find this guys eBay store...he's selling Jesse's G&L invader from the Shockadelica sleeve....

Jesse is an incredible player/musician/producer...but isn't 15g's a little steep?

Also be sure to check out the pictures because a little kid is sleeping on the couch in the background (which I found to be hilarious for some reason).

he's also selling some of Jesse's hats etc...

P.S. - sorry if this is in the wrong forum...I wasn't sure if could post non-prince colectibles in there or if I could post something that I'm not selling...if this is the wrong place just move it...

Those items have been up for at least the last 2 months. There were a few more smaller items, they seem to have sold in the interim.

Jesse's custom G&L Invader is a cool guitar....15 G's is way too steep an asking price. I'd figure at this point the seller might entertain a reasonable offer.

If I had the cash I'd offer about $3500.00 tops. The actual guitar itself is probably worth about half that amount. It wouldn't sit idle in a display case either..it would get played daily.

Those are some cool items, especially the hats. I remember seeing Jessie in concert wearing the pink and purple ones. I wouldn't mind getting those, to be honest. I have a few pink guitar picks that Jessie gave me, but, that's about it.

Yeah, BG, I feel on the hats - they were cool. One of my prized possessions is a Jesse Johnson guitar pick given to me by my boss on my last day at the guitar store where I used to work. He was/is a soundman on SNL and JJ gave it to him back when The Time performed on the show.

I emailed JJ at the address given at that funkadelic tribute web page, but, alas, he never responded. Never really expected him to, though it would've been cool...

How did this guy get all this stuff? How did Jesse part with it? The signature on the certificates looks real. I met Jesse in 85 in a record store and got him to sign my Revue album jacket. I still have it.

The guitar is cool as hell but 15 grand?

Not being sold, but I love the design of this guitar, and Yes that's a picture of Jesse Johnson.

Who is the person selling this stuff?

For $15,000 you can buy an Ibanez Jem and a Pro Tools setup and get more accomplished.

On a Motown thread someone posted that Jeese is "in LA doing tracks for rappers. He is worried that his own music is outdated."

At any rate it would be nice to hear him and Dez also. Great playing never goes out of style.
