What happened? ----- The show was from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m. I left at 5:00 p.m. went they stopped announcing the Time arrival. The show was going to close with Chuck Brown. So I was pretty sure the Time was not going to be performing. The weird thing is that Radio One D.J.'s kept coming out and annoucing their arrival at anytime right up until 4:00p.m. The show was free so no financial lost (LOL) I was just hot and tired. | |

They are notorious for being late starting anyway. They probably showed, just went on later than expected. MUCH later. | |

----- Looks like the did show up. I got this review off a local Prince message board. The Time Reviews at Stone Soul Picnic, DC The band Osiris (Oasis?) ended at 6:15 - took a full hour for them to get ready - by 7:15 when The Time finally took the stage there had been chants of "we want Chuck" and they were greeted by a large section behind us booing them. Chuck Brown, of DC go-go fame, was to be the day's finale and the ending time for the entire event was 8:00 -- so the crowd was justifiably miffed. However, by the second note they were won over by the band's infectious energy. Morris was looking trim and fit, while Tory Ruffin has gained some weight and there is a new synth player. Otherwise, it felt just like 2003 or any other Time performance I've ever attended. They did a selection of hits - " Cool," "The Bird" and "The Walk" - then an encore of "Gigolos Get Lonely Too" and "Jungle Love" -- by that time it was 7:45 and Chuck was obviously going to be forced to work in overtime... - Kathy As usual, great stage presence and energy by The Time. I was wishing for Jerk Out, Chocolate, or Blondie, but that's just me. - Lisa Anyone else go and have any thoughts? | |
