Brownmark's Bass Playing

Can someone tell me (if any), which songs of Prince's back catalog feature Brownmark? Is that him playing the bassline on "Pop Life"?

No, that's P playing that. The only cut that I know of that Mark played on is "America" and maybe "Anotherlover".

Prince played bass on "Anotherloverholenyohead".
BrownMark played bass on "Let's Go Crazy".
BrownMark got the chance to shine more in concert than he ever did on record.
Prince usually played bass on everything back in the BrownMark days, even though the credits on the albums listed BrownMark as bass player.

I don't doubt it about "Anotherlover". Note, I said "maybe". P employed Mark's style on that cut though! "America" I know is Mark. I forgot about Mark on "Let's Go Crazy". He's also on the cut "Purple Rain" since all of that was live from First Ave. 83. The strings at the end were overdubbded and his guitar solo was edited. This was the debut of Wendy.

While Mark was very good, his bass contributions to Prince recordings are marginal. This could be just because its bass and not guitar. The same could not be said for Dez to a point. The difference being that you can hear him play on at least one Prince classic and if you caught a gig during those years, he would rip it up on solos.

Actually....Mark played on all of Mazarati and few other Prince joints. Problem is Prince at times mixed the bass outta some tunes(u can credit this to the success of when doves cry). Mark probably played on the studio cuts as much as Fink did. I believe the all had a hand in playing on the side project releases.

I for one have always been influenced by Mark's bass playing. However my best sources have come from live stuff and not studio stuff.

Thanks everyone for the replys. Is Mark playing at the end of "America" as the song starts to fade? I love that part.
