The Time. The original lineup(Morris,Jesse,Terry,Jimmy Jam,and Monti)were funky as hell.During the Triple threat tour,Prince would not let them perform in the major cities. He didn't want to be upstaged.Aint nobody bad like The Time.

highfive Preach wave The original Time line up was the next best thing to sex. Their sound was pure perfection and orgasmic razz .

The Time was the ONLY band that Prince was EVER afraid of ...

as he said.. they were like this Godzilla on tour....

The Original Revolution lineup, Dez, Andre, etc...was tight

but the Time....wins by a Stacey Adams.....

Think about it this way in terms of songwriting, producing, and performance...

Bobby Z. vs Jellybean
Andre Cymone vs. Terry Lewis
Matt Fink vs Monte Moir
Dez Dickerson vs Jesse Johnson
Lisa Coleman vs Jimmy Jam -- or W&L vs J&L
Prince vs Morris Day

great analogy, I give Revolution Fink and Prince, the rest goes to The Time

Nice comparisons but as I stated in the thread's title, this list excludes Prince.

but i'd have no one to "vs" Morris... no matter anyway, i think we can leave both band leaders out and still achieve the same result

Sos, I see that we're getting into the race card here which really ins't applicable b/c the bottom line is if you play with P you got to be on top of your shit regardless of your race.

so so so, lets do the math and figure out which band had more "blackness"..and lets not forget penis size..cause that can tip the scale right there... rolleyes

lol

Alright now Sos. So what's you're point? Please expound your reasoning behind your comments confuse. Dick size wasn't dragged into the conversation yet but if you wanna take there what are you working with yourself? razz

CoSign What in the world does dick size have to do with musical talent? I have been listening to a rehearsel CD of the Revolution and Prince from 1999. The are rehearsing the 1999 show. They are really not that good. Prince has loads of enthusiasm. The rest of the band just sings along in the background like they could care less.

I am not that surprised that he let these guys go.

Yes revolution from 1983-86 has more non-colored. I might as well said that revolituon is a white band since his black bass player markbrown happens and also sadly to be the most invisable one.

and wow lisa is half latina wow i am just learning something new everyday. no offense to her but she never knowledge that she was one in interviews, and at least i give my fav homegirl Wendy props for acknowledge her jewish roots. not saying that she should have to broadcasting who she is constantly but makes me wonder about her... i am not latina but still you should be proud who u are.

i think that both revolution and time are talent but however i give more creative props to revolution especially wendy because if weren't her i think that revolution would be just a nameless backup band. i felt that it was wendy who have helped established revolution to be more memorable band.
