I just found this - it seems to be the most recent photo of Denise Matthews(Vanity).

She looks so different with short hair!

Maybe I'm just a sad case but somehow I don't think I could sit through one of her sermons without picturing her in a teddie, singing "Nasty Girl"!

I heard she does dialysis every day and she had a kidney transplant - I am sure that her medical condition has something to do with her appearance.


But you know, I have to agree that I probably couldn't sit through her sermon without hoping that she would break into "I need 7 inches or more!...."

u know its amazing how she has evolved into a much better person [preaching the word of God. it was only yesterday that she was singing those nasty songs now shes has toned it down. am very happy for her.

She looks pretty but I don't like short hair on women...it looks to "soccer mom".

I think Denise should have made an appearance on The Rainbow Children!

I swear some of you can really be ignorant. She has put that past behind her. If you want to see her like she was before then watch her old videos or some concert footage or listen to her records. Your sense of humor is no sense at all and is as about as funny as cry for help which is what you need lots of!

She mentions on her website that she's in the process of writing a memoir called, "Blame It On Vanity." Now that's something I'd love to read, but the juicy bits will probably not be in there, given her religiousity. A lot of her downfall came from her drug use, which began toward the end of her relationship with Prince. He wasn't into that. Looks like she's been too busy to finish the book, but you can pre-order it on her website.

Wow - talk about a transformation! Although it does make me sad to hear of her downfalls, I am glad she survived. I'm sure she's got some juicy stories to tell!

But geez, what I wouldn't give for the days of "Pretty Mess" and Vanity 6 again! I feel old just looking at her picture! Where did time go?

Well, I am not exactly sure, but when she travels to speak to churches, she asks for a fridge for her dialysis purposes and she herself admitted on the website that she had a kidney transplant. I think one of her kidneys collapsed and the other is not fairing too well.

And to think, I missed out on most of the 90s because I felt that I couldn't deal with all of his sexual explicitness. I actually told people that I couldn't wait until Prince go older when he would start focusing on being a real musician and less on the sex. [b]Be careful what you wish for. It turns out that this has actually happened and I'm upset that he's such a prude!!! Ain't it a bitch?
