I wonder if in the JW faith, there is some kind of alternative to marriage, where like in Pagan marriage, couples can agree to be married for a set period of time and then decide after that time period if they want to do another time period.

If they are getting divorced, that's too bad. sad

If Mani is pregnant, good for them. smile

I wonder...what's up in his life lately. Seems like a lot of secretive rearranging is going on.

I don't have my copy of The Vault here, but I recall that it states she was born in Sept. 1976 (which I'm sure not going to call old, since I'm 10 years older than that lol )

Yep. I'll be 25 and she's a couple of years older than I am so she's gotta be like 27. Her time is running out and while I don't necessarily like hearing about people's marriages ending, part of me feels like this is karma coming around if it does end. Hmmm, maybe Mayte is somewhere popping a bottle of champagne.
I'm gonna make you love me...

Weren't they baptised before they were "married?"

No, they were married first.

Baptized later.

Can't get baptized JW unless your marriage is legally registered. (might be exceptional in some countries where you have to have an official political affiliation to get legally married, which is not the case in the US)

Sounds for me a bit like politic. confused

it's in line with the principle of respecting the superior authorities.

but of course this is relative. in some countries, people have been asked to join a specific political party in order to do anything legal, including register a marriage. in cases like that, a witness would not have her marriage registered.

So has a witness marriage not to been registered to been legal in witness's eyes?

Is then the marriage legal?

I assume you mean "legal" in the sense that they got an actual marriage license from some state...in that case, I can't say yes for sure, I've never seen a copy of the license!!

However, going by what folks say here, the JW church in the U.S. wouldn't have allowed them to be baptized if their marriage wasn't legal. But, the only info I have about them both being baptized came from one (tabloid) newspaper article, and the assertions of orgers. shrug

Hope that helps clarify things. cool

I don't see why people automatically think that Prince and his wife have split up because there haven't been any pictures of them in the tabloids since earlier this year when Prince was making the awards scene. BIG DEAL!

Guess what? My husband never goes to the grocery store with me or to church or to my friends's houses and I never go to hang out with him and his lame friends and can you believe that NOBODY thinks we are separated???

That's what I've always wondered... if they really are legally married. But no one seems to give a definitive answer to this, but it does seem there is something going on with them. They've been apart (seemingly) quite a while now.

Well, I have no actual knowledge as to whether they're separated or not, but I think people are wondering due to:
1. Prince being seen without Mani many times over these past months....seen without her at concerts, seen without her while out to eat at restaraunts, seen without her at JW gatherings, seen without her while shooting a video or working on new music or whatever it was in Panama, etc.
2. Making the above all more curious is that usually Mani is *always within 2 inches of Prince* (<---- not a literal statement, for all you out there that can't pick up on when someone's just trying to make a point lol), or at least hanging out very nearby him. Over these past 3-4 years, how often was Mani NOT by his side at the various places and functions I mentioned above?

So sure, your point is valid that married couples aren't attached by an umbilical cord, and that they go out and do things separately, but in relation to Prince and Mani's SPECIFIC CASE, those two since the beginning seemed to ALWAYS be in close proximity to one another, no matter what they were doing. Hell, ever see them at a concert of Prince's, or at Paisley? You would think they *were* joined by an umbilical cord! Yet, recently, they've not been seen together AT ALL.

Now do you see why people are speculating and wondering? It is strange for a couple who seemed to go everywhere and do everything together (VERY together), to suddenly always be apart.
