would you think any less of P?

Alot of people seem to think that Mani has a huge influence on his music. Artists are influenced by many things... do you think it would HURT or HELP his career if they should part ways?

rolleyes Yeah it amazes me how Prince managed to achieve the fame of stellar proportions that he did with Purple Rain, without her, or how he ever created all that awesome music that he did before he met her. Must've been a fluke.

I'm sure were Mani not around to guide and manage his career, Prince would plummet into total obscurity.

personally, i don't think Mani has ANY influence over Prince. I think Prince creates what he wants to create, is occasionally inspired by a Muse but, ultimately does what he wants.

should their impending split become public, i think a "free-er" Prince will emerge. maybe something along a "midlife crisis" lol, jk.

as far as Prince's image is concerned, i think he's a playa fo' life. I can't see it any other way.

just an opinion.

Oh I totally agree with everything you said. thumbs up!

My earlier comment was in regards to those that seem to want to credit Mani for everything Prince has accomplished or achieved in recent years, like she's some kind of which I think is way overstating things. Sure she's probably made suggestions to him - as any wife would - but to think she's the reason for the whole Musicology success, popularity, et. al. is, imo, giving her a wee bit too much credit and Prince, not enough.

Prince calls the shots concerning his career.

I agree with you totally. I believe Prince listens to her but in the End it is up to Him. Like the song says in Dove Crys. To demanding and not satisfied

I wouldn't think any less of him. He's been a whore for years so maybe he would still be a whore. I never look down on whores, I look up to them.....only good whores though, not trifling cheap "ho's" that will do it for an RC cola and a Moonpie. lol

Good point. I would hate for Mani to mess with his output, but I don't think that'd happen. I think he's telling the truth when he says that music just comes through him and he has to make it when it does. Especially now that he's more religious and sees it more as a gift not to be squandered.

But I also think that he realizes that in order to be in a successful relationship, and to be a good dad, you have to give something of yourself over to the other person. You can't spend 90% of your time recording for the rest of your life. Maybe he's getting more balanced?
Come here, babe.. yeah...

Nope. I was under the influence that his music (gifts) came from God. Therefore all creations produced theirin is in the hands of God so to speak. Muse...Inspirations....Times in his life...all attribute to his works but no one person is accountable.

I don't think she is the main reason for any of his recent explosions, or the lack thereof.

Prince seems to be the kind of man who likes to keep people on the edge of their seats. Then when you least expect it he comes out and smacks you upside the head with something hot! cool

I don't think it would come as any surprise if they did split. It's not like it didn;t happen before. Prince is a known man whore.
And I would think any differently of his music. It speaks for itself - no pun intended.

I've read a whole heap of stuff on the Prince/Mani/Mayte topics on here and I think the bottom line is this:

Prince loved Mayte, Mayte Loved Prince, but love isn't always forever and in their case there were many contributing factors that probably made the relationship far more difficult than relationships generally are for "normal" people. So in the end they fell out of love, and despite all the speculation I doubt we will ever really find out why.

Now Prince loves Mani and Mani loves Prince (I assume this based on the exchange of wedding rings etc) but who knows how that love will develop and change shape.

I honestly think that some people can and only ever will love one person in their lifetime, and for others there can be many. My guess is that Prince's first and lifetime love is music, and I doubt any female will ever mean as much to him as that, but who knows.

I think there are a lot of people on this site who would willingly see Mani & Prince part, but I'm guessing for the most part they are probably female and feeling pretted gutted that they didn't adopt Mani's tactics first! Ha ha!!

May I point out, I'm in my 20's, under 5ft 4in, with dark hair, dark eyes, tanned skin and a perfect UK size 8 figure, so if they were to split.....

No, I'm joking...on a serious note I think it is always such a shame when any marriage ends, and I hope for their sake that this never happens, but in the end if it did I wouldn't think any less of either of them. For their marriage to break up would mean they had been through some pretty serious stuff, and who are we to judge that?
