For whatever reason that is what he wanted and I think we should just accept it. I always felt like Violet the Organ Grinder video was a response to that Spike Lee thing. That was a time when I felt Prince compromised to satisfy someone. My point is it doesn't matter if the woman was black, white. latina or asian or Vanity, Cat, Diamond and Pearl, Mayte...they all looked hot with Prince and they were all of different colors.

I have been sick of seeing white-looking and latina-looking women in Prince's videos for YEARS. But that doesn't lessen my respect and love for him and his music. As a darker American I have to deal with constant images of "beauty" being equated with white and latina-looking everyday. Life goes on, business as usual.
