MAYTE rollin' quarters... Okay, I was jus' watching a concert from the act I TOUR...and had this strange memory.
I remember one night when PRINCE was on ARSENIO many moons ago.. and arsenio was talkin 2 Mayte prior to Prince's performance.. All of sudden Mayte spread out on the floor and placed some quarters on her stomach.. one by one she started to roll dem back 2 front w/ her abs..... Anyone else recall this? | |

I seem to remember Arsenio never really said who she was, but it was pretty obvious.
I also remember she had trouble with one quarter, which meant she wasn't quite up to my standards. Check this song out at:

You know what....I have tried that many times(still haven't been able to do it) but omg talk about an ab workout!!!! They were soooo sore the next day!!  | |

Didn't she first do this on a television show back in the late '70s, early '80s called That's Incredible? It's at the end of the Diamonds & Pearls videocassette right? I was on That's Incredible around 1980 or so. It was kinda like the Star Search for strange talent back then, like rollin' quarters. | |

I never saw it. I'm too young. Mayte makes me want to bellydance. I SO want to roll quarters on my gut now. Someone orgnote me please, if they can tell me how to do it. I'd love to. And do u have to have a flat stomach to do it (mine has a couple inches left to get rid of)? If it doesn't fit, it's ugly anyway. | |
