Yes, I loved the words. He had a future, its a shame he past. His girlfriend at the time (DeBorah, Vanity's baby sister and Irish Twin) has never stopped mourning.

One of the very few good albums on Paisley Park Records

Such a waste to lose him at such a young age.

I listened to his CD again recently for the first time in years and was surprised at how many cuts on there I really liked. It's definitely one of the better Paisley Park releases.

Someone on here got me hip to tony lemans. He used the same producer as scritti politti's albums. David gamson created that crisp, "digital" sound.

"cookie crumbles" is my personal fav. Love that album.

When did he die? He worked with David gamson, co-writing a few donny osmond cuts off his "eyes dont lie" album. Donny even thanx him on the album notes. Tony does backup vox too. Check it out. The Osmond/gamson/lemans cuts have the same sound as lemans album.

"thats the way, the cookie crumbles baby, thats the way the story goes"

"The Rhythm Rocker Boogie Shocker" (gotta love Bonnie Boyer's vocals on that one) was written about a conversion van we use to ride to rehearsal in during some of those cold Minneapolis winter nights. We always had Tony's music playing and at times we'd crack jokes about certain things. One day,Tony said "This is the Rhythm Rocker Boogie Shocker" because the person who's van it was had a system in it upwards of $5000,00. You could imagine how it sounded and for 1988/89 that was a lot of money to put into an automotive stereo. That van actually did Rock! Great Times!
