Flash featuring Margie Cox I just heard these tracks for the first time this week. I think they are fierce! They are about 15 years old and I couldn't believe Prince didn't do anything with them! Then I looked them up in 'The Vault' last night which said Prince was very much into this album at the time and invited a lot of record execs over to listen to them, but none of them were too enthusiastic about the songs--which probably snuffed out Prince's interest in the project. Now am I crazy or did those execs really miss out on a good thing? Soulful vocals over hard rock/funk beats--has anyone else heard these jams?

You nailed it. Margie is a great singer and a very nice person.

I really liked Margie in Ta Mara And The Seen, but they sounded totally different from Flash. If this album ever made it to stores, it would have blown my mind.

If you've not already done so check out Margie's Little Demo - her latest album, which has Margie in fine voice across a whole range of styles, with a whole host of minneapolis friends to help out! Morris Hayes, Michael B, Sonny T to name but three.
Also has one of the best 'credits' ever in the liner notes: 'thanks, but no thanks, to Jesse and Prince!' very cool...
