Carmen Electra

Ok don't laugh but I am starting to get into Carmen Electra's album agian. Ok for the record her rapping is embarrassing posing and but the music on the album is really great to work out to. Try it sometime. The music has that early ninites club feel...good tracks are Go Go dancer, S.T., Go on wit your bad self, Fantasia Erotica, and Everybody get on up. It really isn't that bad I kinda like the music on it. biggrin

P.S. I think Carmen is a sweet lady and a high energetic dancer too. biggrin

I have the CD. Is it hard to find? I thought it was one of the few Paisley Park CDs still in print because Carmen is more famous now than when it was released.

Because the music is played by Prince and The NPG,the grooves on this album are pretty good. It's just the rapping and the lyrics that suck lol

But "Fantasia Erotica" kicks ass! With better promotion,it could have been a major club hit headbang

Yes but she knows she is chessy...I don't see how people say she is talentless and crappy because she makes money off her body and beauty...I mean Prince fans all recoginze that his musical ability is a god given talent and we appreciate him for sharing it with us,,,but has anyone ever stoped to think that being a beautful woman is a good given gift as well? In history beautiful women were considered muses and inspired many great works of art. She is using her talents to make a living just like Prince is...even if she cheesy...at least she found her nich. biggrin

I don't think beauty is a "talent", though. Not in the same way you compare it to Prince's talent of creating music, anyway. Creating music or art involves more soul and depth than just having been, by the luck of the cards, born with good genes.

And, what does one do when the "talent" of beauty is gone..beauty fades. Talent like Prince's is *forever*, and doesn't depend upon superficialities.

One last thing - sure, beauty can inspire art but I think you're crediting it for more than physical beauty is TRULY worth. Many more things besides beauty have been the inspiration for great works of art. You ought to check out other "muses" of famous poets, artists, etc. - women who were FAR from 'beautiful' in the conventional, traditional sense.

Carmen was just yet another hot chick (debatable) who lucked out by being in the right place at the right time. I would credit Carmen's success more to LUCK and maybe some good business decisions, than to any kind of talent.

Beauty is not a talent, it's a gift. Carmen is definitely gorgeous and I love to look at her but PLEASE! Keep that trap shut! It ruins everything! She can't even recite VH1 lines correctly...she spaces when she shouldn't and just sounds terrible! She should be hired as a statue somewhere wink

Well she could of disapeared like alot of other female Prince protegees but she didn't and I think that takes some marketing ability or good buisness sense. Carmen has her gifts too.

Talent isn't forever. It can fade and disappear if you don't use it. If a talented athlete doesn't play sports for ten years, his gift will be gone.

I love some of that album. Particually "s.t" (sonny t biggrin ), "go go dancer", "everybody get on up" and "fantasia erotica".

"we're gonna dance dance dance.....(move it.....move it.....)"

I want the "go go dancer" video mad

U got the carman outtakes? "power from above" is her best song. Awesomely overproduced thumpoing song. That intro biggrin "we will not give up the fight, we will not give up the fight".....also "carman on top" and "powerline" are cool too.
