Which muse do you appreciate the most?

Yes it's another "Prince" girl thread from your favorite "Prince" girl in training KRYSTAL! So if you don't wanna read it you are free to exit....Now... biggrin

... boxed Are the meanies gone??... woot! Ok yay! Now on to the topic...we obviously know Prince women have inspired many great works of Prince and which one do you appreciate the most???

Susannah Melovin-The Sign o the Times era It was obvious that Prince was very in love with this woman at the time and seemed to be struggling with monogomy and being young and wanting to date many women songs include "If I was your girlfriend" "Strange Relationship" "Adore"

Ingrid Chavez=The Lovesexy era I don't think they were ever a couple or anything but their friendship inspired alot of the realisation to shelve the Black album and crate the spirtual awaking of Lovesexy.

Mayte-The prince era Oooh the introduction of bellydance and arabic/middle eastern music styles into his work. Strong influence in songs like 7, The Max, The morning papers

Chaka Kahn=The NPS era Ok I am pretty convinced that Chaka and Larry and their jams together inspired alot of the energy P was feeling at the time with the funk and the crowds going crazy..exp the high energy of NPS and Freeks on this side and Push it up

Mani Tessollini=The Rainbow Children era Obviously Mani and he had a strong bond and faith in the JW thing and his renewed interest in monogomy was refelected in the album.

So which muse do you appreciate the most for inspiring albums/songs???

I think I am going to have to go with Ingrid Chavez. As much as I love Mayte I love the music of Lovesexy and the questions he purposed in those songs.

U?

P.S. If you can think of any more muses please add them to the list! biggrin

While all of those beauties inspired many a jam,Susannah Melvoin seemed to inspire some of Prince's greatest work in my eyes. The Beautiful Ones,If I Was Your Girlfriend,Forever In My Life,Condition of the Heart and quite possibly Adore. These songs not only developed out of Prince not only improving as a musician and writer but as a human being as well. Those songs conveyed a sense of maturity that Prince only hinted at prior to that.

Besides the lovely ladies already mentioned, I'll add Anna Garcia. She inspired the gorgeous Pink Cashmere and the classic Vicki(originally entitled Anna) Waiting.Susan Moonsie inspired the brilliant When Doves Cry as well as Private Joy if I'm not mistaken.

sure sure, some will say that some of the songs claimed to be written for Susannah might have been intended for others....(i really do like the theory that prince lied to wendy and lisa to save his ass..it just makes the guy seem human..)...

but, i still have to go with Sus...."Wally"

well I was always on the impression that Vanity was a muse, until I found out that Susan was the real girlfriend of that era. So with that, I will go for Susan because I love all the material up to and including Purple Rain. With honorable mention to Susannah for Beautiful Ones.

I was about to say the same thing. Vanity and/or Susan were factored in there somewhere in those early 80s heyday years
