Popstarr.com says that Apollonia supposedly was offered a role in The Color Purple, but turned it down. It also says that Prince wanted her to star in Under the Cherry Moon, but she declined.

Has anybody else ever heard either of these stories? I just find both of them very hard to believe.

yeah, i heard she was supposed to be in a movie with anne bancroft, but they wouldn't re-title the flick 'night, apples.

"DanceMusicSexRomance" by Per Nilsen never mentions Apples as a contender for any kind of role in Princes' second flick. I was shocked to find out that Prince pursued Madonna for the main female lead and that she turned it down. Now that would have been an "interesting" team up on screen to say the least

who would she have played in The Color Purple? aint no latina's in that film...

I read that Madonna read the script for "Graffiti Bridge", said it was garbage, and got the hell out of there. I don't blame her for turning down that role.
