I can't listen to the "men from Neptune" bit without smiling. Also, "A Million Miles" is one of the best pop songs he's ever written. Brenda rocks!

Fewer bongo solos than her previous albums. Interestingly, the liner notes have the first use of "eye" being used instead of "i".

Vanity 6 - Vanity 6



Prince invents electroclash twenty years too early. "Make Up" is the most non-musical piece of music he's ever written. Susan sounds like she's in a K-hole and is actually eating her make-up.

Wendy & Lisa - Eroica



It sounds like Summer. I don't know. It's got this 1960s folksy vibe to it but with really 1980s drum programming mixed with 1970s funk. It's an odd album. It's got that sparse denseness that The Revolution's albums had. It's weird.

Carmen Electra - Carmen Electra



It's the aural equivalent of watching "Showgirls". I have no idea why this album bombed. Camp as Christmas!

Eric Leeds - Times Squared



I'm not really into instrumentals but this does hold your attention all the way through. It's a million miles away from Kenny G - or N.E.W.S. for that matter.

Wendy & Lisa - Fruit At The Bottom



Their most Princey-sounding album to date. "Are You My Baby" should have been a smash hit. I've never understood why "Satisfaction" went up the UK charts but "Are You My Baby" stalled.

The Time - Ice Cream Castle



It's just a party from beginning to end really, isn't it?

Sheena Easton - The Lover In Me



Honestly, it's great pop-dance stuff. The lyrics to "101" make Sheena sound more like a stalker than a lover. One of Prince's weirdest songs.

Stay clear of the over-hyped 'Jill Jones' by Jill Jones and 'Ingrid Chavez' by Ingrid Chavez.

And I know I'm not crazy. I have played "Make-Up" for a few people recently who had no idea this kinda shit was being done in 1982, let alone by Prince.
