The Family Who are the members in The Family? I am listening to "The Screams of Passion" from the Girl 6 soundtrack, and it is very good. How many albums did they release, etc. Any information on them would be appreciated!

You've got the personnel, from what i understand the background story was this. The Time had broken up after Purple Rain, so P wanted a new side project going so he got St.Paul, Jellybean and Jerome from the Time, Wendy's twin sister Susannah and Eric Leeds. Of course P wrote everything, despite what the album credits say (as if Jerome wrote a song).
They had a decent sized hit in "Screams of Passion" and the band should have toured BUT P was too busy over in Europe taking care of UTCM to be bothered, so St Paul got pissed off and quit, and the project was dead. Which lead P during the Parade tour shows to lead a chant of "St Paul! Punk of the Month!" during "Mutiny". Their other claim to fame is the original version of "Nothing Compares 2 U". Any other questions? [Edited 3/26/05 8:16am] http://www.facebook.com/p...111?ref=ts

The Family's album is one of my favorites. I LOVE EVERY SINGLE SONG ON THAT ALBUM. I think I love their original version of NOTHING COMPARES 2 U because it's the first one I heard. DESIRE is also a beautiful song.

That Bobby Z album for some reason reminded me of Bryan Ferry. I will do today what you won't, so tomorrow I can do what you can't.

The live band was as said upper, but the album band is Susannah & St. Paul on vocals, Eric Leeds on sax, Clare Fisher Orchestra on strings &... Prince on every other instrument !!! It's not sure weither Miko & Jellybean played or not on it, but if they did, it was minor contributions on a few tracks. There was only ONE album, recorded between ATWIAD & Romance 1600, & released in 1985. U can add 2 this an Extended Version of The Screams Of Passions from the 12inch single, & a different (first) version of "Nothing Comparse 2 U", released in 2002 by St. Paul on his website (probably without P's agreement). 2 outtakes & some alternate versions also circulate on bootlegs, as well as the one & only live per4mance they did at 1st avenue.
