Esp. at the beginnning where he says, "Can I get some nasty bass?" Damn!! I'm grinning from ear2ear right now as i listen & type with excitement!! "Now U can ALL take a bite of my purple rok!"

You do kind of have a point there b/c I was listening to the 12 inch version of Fake and yes it did have a Morris vibe going for sure.

I love this track and it does have a Morris Day feel to it. I had a friend burn me a copy of the song "Fake" because I bought Alexander O'Neal's first album and the only song I liked was "Innocent". I never heard any other fast tracks played on the radio from the second album back in the day, so I assumed there weren't any and never bought the album.
Now, I just wish my friend had Alexander O'Neil's Christmas Song, "Sleigh Ride". Andy is a four letter word.

Oh. My. God. The Org moves in mysterious ways! I bought 'Hearsay' - just browsing - this weekend.
That kills the thread I was gonna create, then. Firstly - what the HELL was I doing in 1987 when 'Fake' came out? I'd never even heard of it until I bought this. (My mate knew I'd love it, though. Love that rhythm). 700,000 copies of the album were sold in the UK alone, apparently. Secondly - I definitely hear the Morris vibe. First thing I thought of when I heard this track. And with Jellybean, Jimmy, Terry and Jerome included it's a bit like the interim album between 'Ice Cream Castles' and 'Pandemonium'. Now I need to find out more about Alexander O'Neal!
