I love this song, but unfortunately, I can't hardly see that video. It is really poor quality.

Co-sign ! This is one of my all time favorite songs as well. Prince should definitely revisit this gem in one form or another....like do a live version, release his own studio version or whatever.
What a great song. One of those songs he should have kept for himself.I´m just afraid it´s impossible to recapture that feeling and groove of the song.But then again, there are lots of songs that sounded really interesting when he revisited them ( Something In The Water, Noon Rendezvous, etc.)

Are you sure it's extended as in the bootleg version? I have UK 12" and US 12" pressings of this and both feature the album version as the "extended" version.

What u're saying might explain why so many album versions are dubbed as "extended version" on p2p's. It took me at least 20 d/l's of so-called "extended versions" 2 get the real one, but eventually i found it.
My version was poorly ripped from the vinyl, so it has a poor sound quality, but still better than the bootleg. Hope one day i'll find a good rip of it...

There is NO extended version. The 12" version is actually the album version maybe a few seconds longer. It is listed as an extended version when in reality it is the album version.

I think if you go back in time and think about the videos that were out in 1985, The Dance Electric is pretty serious. Just my opinion. Im so glad we can watch it online!

I like the dance electric video and the song. I get 2 watch the video on VHS since my mom recorded hella videos from that time.

I don't think you can ever go wrong with any form of 80's cheese but that's just me.
