Pete Escovedo's Latin Jazz Club in San Jose has shut down.This is the club where Prince and his entourage hung out after one of his San Jose concerts last year.According to Escovedo,the older,upscale audiences for live Latin jazz music never materialized."We couldn't make it there",he says."No matter what we did,it wasn't enough.People just didn't come out.It didn't do me any good staying there.Time to move on".

San Jose is one of the worst cities to open up a nightclub in.The nightlife here is non-existent.I can't see why Pete didn't open his club in San Francisco,Oakland....anywhere but San Jose! Most new nightclubs that open here stay open for less than a year.It's almost comical....when a new place opens,my friends and I always joke "Hey,we better check out this new club before it closes".
