Who me? I didn't say anything. whistling

but...

I don't know if I would put too much stock into the writing credits Prince filed with the ASCAP. He was known for giving people credit on songs they didn't have anything to do with. I do think she did background vocals. But I haven't read Dez's book so ....

We must be thinking of two different Princes. I know the one who DIDN'T give others credit for playing and writing in the early days because he & Warner were pushing the one man band image so tough he wouldn't hear of it.

But some people did get credit because you can find it registed with the ASCAP.
I love how some people on this board get their noses out of shape about the credit issue even when they find out that some of P's co-workers did receive credit for their assitance.

As far as those that did not get paid well those people should have taken action back then and stop complaining. Either you take legal action and get what is owed to you or shut up about. That is my main issue with W&L.

It seems that the obsessed "fams" ignore any and all complaints against Prince and go into instant defense mode even when its his band members doing the complaining. There are a zillion claims that Prince has stolen pieces of music from others; but they are ALL liars. Only Price is right. Here, here's a quote in this magazine supporting this view. Its wtitten, so it MUST be true because nobody ever types a lie, right? rolleyes

Btw, on a slightly unrelated note... who does ASCAP / the Copyright Office list as the writers of Mountains and Sometimes It Snows In April?

On both: Lisa, Wendy and Prince
I am MrVictor....
