Wendy & Lisa Satisfaction Yep nearly 2 decades on and I was listening to this fantastic track! i'd forgotten how good it was. Brings up the oft repeated question, what would Prince albums have been like if he had continued to produce some tracks with W&L. I suspect the "satisfaction " (sorry!!) level might have been a bit higher through the 90s and perhaps he suspects the same!

Oh nooooo. Please don't do it.
Now all those Wendy & Lisa haters will come again out of their holes and they will whine about how overrated W+L are and that Prince was far better off without them and so on. We had this so often before.

satisfaction is 1 of the better Wendy & Lisa songs, & Jesse's background singing definitely adds something to it.
in fact, I think the whole fruit at the bottom album is good - except, ironically, for the title track. I'll see you tonight..

I think Satisfaction is their most prince like song...But my favorite song from that album is "Everyday". An underrated funk track. Space for sale...

question: is that jesse ad-libing at the end of the song? or is it wendy? Space for sale...

I really like fruit at the bottom as an album (as a whole), but clearly, to me, EROICA is BY FAR the BEST Wendy & Lisa album - by their 3rd album, they had honed in on the "Wendy & Lisa" sound, a perfect mix of pop, funk & rock.
as for the "ad-libbing" at the end of satisfaction - I have no idea. to me, it sounds like Wendy because it's a "simple" riff. I am NOT taking a shot at Wendy as a guitar player, but (if it's the riff I think you're talking about) that riff.. Jesse could do in his sleep! I'll see you tonight..

WHAT vocals at the end of satisfaction???
do you mean the "hey hey hey yeah" vocal improv?? other than the girls repeating "satisfaction" & 1 last chorus, that's the only "vocal" I hear after "how 'bout it Jesse?".. I'll see you tonight..

ah, so I GUESSED RIGHT on the part of the song, anyway!
it's funny how people hear things; in that part, I've always heard "early in the morning time, I'm gonna set it up.. hey ey ey.. (a little satisfaction).." I know - I'll go VISIT LISA & ask her about this directly! she ought to remember! I'll see you tonight..

I"m at work and don't have my iPod with me, but I remember the ad libbing being like:
"Early in the mo'ning, time.... go'nna set it up-ahhhh" "Saaa tihhh,, Saaa tihhhh, Satisfaction" And that one of the other female "Girlbros" is doing it (maybe Cole?) Also, doesn't Jesse scream his trademark :"Gitta little satisfaction. Good Gawd Unnh!" In this? Or was that just all over his and Tamara and the Seen's albums?

What was their last hit? Wendy is playing on the number one album in the country right now, and an album that wasn't given away at the concerts no less Hit or not dude Wendy and Lisa are a force to be reckon with. Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

Exactly my point! thanks, thing is Prince is more than able to continue to make great records, however, W&L were responsible for helping him make Parade which IMHO is pretty much Prince's "Rubber Soul" and whatever you might think KidCreole, them helping him would be far from laughable!

I didnt say helping him was laughable - I said giving him a hit was laughable. Nobody can give Prince a hit. He used to give other people hits. Wendy and Lisa just dont have it like that. But to stay make people happy - "Wendy and Lisa are the greatest thing to happened in Prince's career and he would not be where he is now if he had not hired them". How's that? "Playing on the number one album"? Sorry Kid ur missing the point me thinks! They are doing well as part of Gwen's album, and they were part of a period of Prince's career that is regarded by most as his best. they were not the sole reason he was successful , but just like mick ronson was to bowie in the ziggy period they were to Prince throughout the 84 to 87 period. The point is that Prince would certainly gain from some input from these two as he did before.
