Well not their music persay. But it's not like they vanished into thin air. Since 1986..They have done 4 albums Worked with MANY artists as back up musicians/vocalists (Tricky, Seal, Neil Finn) Do a lot of scoring for Film and TV (won an emmy for Crossing Jordan, I think) They are alive and kicking. Wendy and Lisa have great chemistry.It's very apparent in their music and in "Purple Rain",the film.I wonder if this influenced Prince's decision to replace Dez with Wendy.If Dez was still in The Revolution,this would have altered the landscape of the movie.Was Prince really thinking ahead or was it an lucky coincidence? larry luvlife

I read Dez's book, and from what I remember from the book, he had been planning on leaving Prince's band, because he wanted to do more solo stuff. Dez stopped attending the soundchecks to the 1999 tour, Prince invited Wendy to "stand in" during the soundchecks... it was pretty clear that Dez's heart wasn't in it anymore, so Wendy was the natural next choice. According to Dez's book, originally his plotline in the Purple Rain movie was supposed to be about him wanting credit for a song he gave to Prince's character-- the plotline ended up being used for W&L instead, and it fit their situation in the band perfectly.
