Teena Marie and Jill Jones sisters? Today I was listening to the radio. Teena Marie was doing an interview with a R&B station. They asked her what she was doing when she first heard her song on the radio. She said she was in LA in the car with Jill Jones her sister. She mentioned that she introduced Jill to Prince and she had a career under his wings. She said that Jill was her baby sister. Was this public knowledge to anyone? I don't think she meant literally. I believe that JJ's mom worked for Teena in some way (tour manager?) and that is how they met.
But I don't know either of these people so I could be completely wrong-but I doubt that.  I AM BEATLOAF

They may share a parent, they just don't share the same parents. However, I don't think she meant they are biologically related. But, as someone else posted JJ's mother was Teena's tour manager or something back in the day. . [Edited 2/23/05 12:13pm] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I think Jill started as a background singer for Teena Marie. I'm pretty sure she's not her real sister.
And I'm pretty sure Teena Marie never toured with Prince. ??? If so, please help me out ??? | |

In the liner notes to Teena's remastered 'It Must Be Magic' CD,it is mentioned that Jill is actually the daughter of Berry Gordy's brother(!)...LOL...there seems to be alot of misinformation circulating about Jill. ... [Edited 2/25/05 2:14am] | |

Nope, they are not sisters, but Teena lived with Jill's family for awhile on Mt. Olympus in LA. Jill's Mom managed Teena and was married to Fuller Gordy, brother of Motown's Berry Gordy. I'll post some pictures when I get the chance.
