I think Mayte truly loved him. She was young and liked to party but hell, he is old and still likes to party. Latina women rock and I love Mayte and wish her well. All you haters need to get a life of your own so you can stop envying others! Sorry, just had to vent... Most marriages fall apart after the death of a child. It's a fact. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

What is WEIRD to me is he had the MARRIAGE ANNULLED. But then again I suppose that was If he WANTED to get Married in CHURCH. But ,well I think MAYTE just WASN'T the SAME Remember he SAID I WISH I COULD PUT A SMILE BACK ON MY WIFE'S FACE AGAIN.... I Think and RIGHTLY So she was DEVESTATED. I think she was and well I think still VERY BEAUTIFUL. Just maybe TOO FAST TOO SOON .

The 'fact' that "most marriages fall apart after the death of a child" is, in actuality, a misguided and unsubstantiated assumption (no actual studies were ever done to reach that "75%" conclusion of how many couples divorce after the death of a child) made many years ago by people who never actually researched anything regarding divorce after the loss of a child. they merely made a guesstamation, and nothing more reliable than that. Here is a recent article about a RECENT ACTUAL STUDY done regarding divorce after the death of a child: http://www.healingheart.n...vorce1.htm This has nothing really to do with Mayte and Prince's situation specifically but that "most marriages fall apart after the death of a child" statistic is bogus.

I adore P, but I must agree with you. I don't care how physically fine he is (and he knows he is); that he did this makes him extremely unappealing. ...especially if the infidelity rumors are true, and the now-new "religious" wife was "allowed" to disrespect the old one and undermine the sanctity of his former marriage. Though what's more disrespectful than stepping out on your woman? Though entertaining, all of this is moot speculation and a waste of our time, however. For all we know, Mayte left him. She's not talking -- and if she were, I'm sure many of us here wouldn't believe her anyway -- and really, it's none of our business.

I don't even pretend to know what happened because I don't. But I did notice that shortly after the baby's death was announced Prince posted a strange writing up on his website that left me going WTF? He stated that eating cheese and exposure to nailcare products can affect an unborn fetus and this was about the time that they were breaking up. I was a bit offended by the post because I felt like he was trying to blame the death of the baby on Mayte's eating habits and/or her getting her nails done. Then he had some quack study supporting this theory. It was just very strange.

LQ I agree with you about that writeup on the website. It was strange and, I thought, rather cruel because it did at least SEEM as though the writeup was directed at Mayte. What a sad, incredibly emotional thing it is to lose a child for *any* reason but when the child is born with a birth defect, I guess trying to assign blame afterwards is hard not to do.
