What was the song Wendy & Lisa wrote about Prince? Just wondering what the name of the song Wendy & Lisa wrote about Prince was, I know they did one for sure, so if anyone can help, I'd love it.

Gaz the track in question is "Song about" taken from their debut album, one of the lines goes - "beautiful u said, the way u shook ur head,so strange that no1 stayed at the end of the parade" hope this helps.

yeah, great song , and an xtra bit of trivia - the line 'beautiful, you said the way you shook your head' refers to the last show they did together in Japan. They did Sometimes it snows... and he broke all his guitars, shook his head and said 'beautiful' and that was the end.

I sure wish Prince would give us Roadhouse Garden, Splash was one of my favorite tracks last year!

I actually sent a e-mail to Wendy & Lisa about 2 years ago regarding "Roadhouse Garden" and they said that Prince call them up to work on the album, but never called them back. So it sure is up in limbo, hopefully someone can ask him in one of he's sound checks.

and yet in an interview with MTV Prince stated that it was Wendy & Lisa whom did not want to do it.....
this is the third time P has contacted them for a collaboration and then not followed it up - 1)- In this bed i scream -they got a call to collaborate on the track... P never called back. 2)- VH-1 honers - P called them up about a reunion live at the show.... never called them back. Mmmmm what's his problem ??

actually...
wendy and lisa did submit their ideas for In This Bed via mail..but he didnt include them.... wendy and lisa declined the invite to the VH-1 show because he wanted them to bust out of the audience with dancers and performers in *glamour* clothes....wendy and lisa recommended that they do a simple acoustic set since that was more in tune with what all three of them were trying to accomplish at the time..back to basics!!..but prince declined.... wendy and lisa seem really really busy lately..with all their film scoring and working with neil finn and others...it sorta seems like they really arent too excited about working with P again...but thats just my HO... and yeah, prince is a flake, witch makes a reunion even harder...

Yeah I heard about the Prince call regarding "in this bed I cry" and never call them back and that came from the mouths of Wendy & Lisa from a interview they did for some internet mag.
The other was that Prince invited them to do that VH1 special and wanted them to dance around with tamborines and shit, and never called back again, and that again was from the mouths of Wendy & Lisa. As for the e-mail I wrote to them, that was when they had there e-mail address on the seems to be dunfunct website about 2 years ago, and I did receive a e-mail back from them, either Wendy or Lisa and they said that Prince did give them one of those 3am calls about the Roadhouse Garden Project, and then changed he's mind. The guy moves in a million directions per second and I think 2000 would of been the year for anything to happen, I guess we can only dream now.

From Wendy's mouth, "Lisa and I have been trying to do something with Prince for years, he's just too stubborn."

"song about" is beautiful. wendy & lisa have such a magical style. they are such artists in their own right. prince demands such loyalty from people he works with, it's a shame they cannot count on the same (or even the courtesy of calling back) from him.

They were never the same after Prince. If youlisten to most of the musicians that have worked with Prince, they all say the same thing. They wish their employment with him never ended. They all get pissed when he ends it for them.

wow, thats a very interesting observation....while, maybe some other associated artist might wish they were still working with prince, I highly doubt wendy, lisa or shiela e feel that way..... wendy and lisa were never about funk..they challenged prince to incorporate other styles into his music and i think there was some major cross pollinization (sic?) on both parts.....i actually think wendy and lisa have become stronger arstist withouth musical boundries...for the most part, those who dont appreciate their artisty are those prince fans that enjoy his "funkier" stuff.....and i can respect your opinion, sorta....but, i also know that you would have never even given an artist like wendy and lisa a listen in the first place (if not for the prince)..... reference.... theres so many colors to be enjoyed...to only see whats purple is a true shame.....

Well It all starts with the funk, I mean other styles of music. I have read quotes from Sheila E stating that she never wanted to stop drumming for Prince. She still shows up to every live appearence he has here and LA, last weekend at the Kodak was no exception. All of the interviews I have heard Wendy and Lisa give, they always sound soo bitter. Fruit at the Bottom was their strongest effort with the Prince writing the opening track. Great album. Just missed the audience. I think they really want to work with Prince, they would have never agreed to the Roadhouse Garden project.

they sound bitter because they get annoyed that everytime they are interviewed, the reporter will ask them about prince...they have soo moved on from him (trust me.....when i meet them, prince's name didnt come up *ONCE*)...
prince did not write any songs on Fruit at the Bottom (or any other of their albums for that matter).... wendy and lisa have been working with some very non-funk artist the past few years....kd lang, sheryl crowe, doyle brahmhall, neil finn, pearl jam....these people arent about funk... i guess you could read what you want into just about anything.....
