Proteges 80's Ladies vs 90's girls????

in which decade would you agree Prince had the best female proteges????

80's

Vanity

Apollonia

Sheila E.

Wendy & Lisa

Jill Jones

Cat

-or-

90's

Ingrid Chavez

Robin Power

Diamond & Pearl

Carmen Electra

Nona Gaye

Mayte yes we know she was his wife at one time...he still pimped her out like a protege

with the exception on Nona who pretty much was a recording artist prior to her run in with Prince I have to go with the 80's.

I am not taína. Taíno is in me, but there is no way back.
I am not european. Europe lives in me, but I have no home there.
I am new. History made me. My first language was spanglish.

The 80's no question about it - the simple inclusion of Wendy & Lisa and Sheila E. alone blows all the 90's proteges away.

the 90's woman were more about looks then talent....

i often wonder if the prince of today would even consider someone who acted and looked like lisa..... he would have found her too wierd and passed..

the ladies of the eighties rule. i like sheila and her kick ass drumming and i also like jill jones's singing and she sang just like teena marie. i wished jill was with a better record company who willing to promote her. and wendy and lisa i think they were better songwriters and composers and producers but i just dont feel for their singing. as far as prince would hired someone who look and act like lisa back then i cant say. lisa always know to be shy and quiet and mysterious type and since she and wendy have different personalities i dont know if they had click so well if it weren't for their love in music. but i cant say she is weird since i never met her.
i like vanity too she was a better singer than most of his nineties proteges.
also was sheena easton a prince protege too?

I AGREE THE LADIES FROM THE 80'S ARE BETTER THEN THE 90'S LADIES. I LOVE APOLLONIA, SHEILA.E., VANITY, SUSAN, BRENDA, SUSANNAH, SHEEN EATSON, JILL JONES, WENDY AND LISA. THEY HAVE CLASS AND STYLE. THEY HAVE ALL DIFFERENT TALENTS AS WILL SINGING, ACTING, DANCING, AND OTHER THINGS. yes kitty biggrin

I think that the ladies from the eighties were the best! And you can see that these girls are the ones that we mainly talk about in this forum. smile
