Where's Brooks and why is Larry still around.. Brooks was in the mix up throught SOTT and Parade.. I enjoyed his antics as part of the entourage in the back. And then there's Jerome, around post-Time up to Parade as well (given his co-starring role in the movie).
Were they just another pair of folks that he just got tired of working with? I know they were friends from way back. In terms of who I wish he'd get rid of, Larry Graham comes to mind.. I'm tired of his ole ass.. plus, what's up with his wife coming up on stage for no particular reason.. they have too much play in the whole outfit. Thoughts? Come here, babe.. yeah...

My thoughts are that you miss a man who had to be the only back-up dancer in the history of music who COULDN'T dance and you are dogging one of the greatest or perhaps the greatest bass player EVER. Strange.

Brooks and Wally - there was no way for that to go but OUT! Those goofballs were about as a ice cool as eating a chilli burger, lathered in hot chilli sauce, in the middle of Summer, wearing a thick, hooded NPG ski-jacket whilst playing hopscotch with the Devil.

I sense some Larry haters here. Sounds like a classic case of people who unfortunately do not have a musical ear for talent. Don't worry, there is help.

I agree there's no sense in doubting Larry as a bass player but I can understand everyone who is not too enthusiastic about him being around Prince. His influence on Prince is at least questionable.

Thats your opinion. you arent around them to know what thier relation ship is really like. its really all about music and larry is the man on bass. would you rather him hang around Sly Stone? Look.. I'm not saying that Graham is not a fabulous bass player and I do think there is a place for the old-timers. Shucks, I love Maceo.
I'm just saying that I wish that Larry was not always sticking his butt up on center stage. I'm tired of seeing him.Play your damn bass is the background, just like everyone else. You don't see Maceo hamming it up and he's got the same chops as Larry. I thought that Brooks was a lot of fun. The comic relief really worked well in the show. I liked his attitude and his look. And since when are non-musicians not allowed to have an opinion about a performing artist. Isn't that the point of the .org? To voice opinions? If that's the case, 90% of the members would even be here. We don't have to be sycophants for everything that Prince does. Come here, babe.. yeah...

That's funny because I don't remember seeing Larry at a single Musicology show last year. Larry's around because Prince wants him around. how would you feel if people didn't like you listening to Prince? You would probably tell them to kiss your ass. I am sure Prince doesn't care who we like or don't like in his camp.I'm just saying that I wish that Larry was not always sticking his butt up on center stage.
