Carmen Electra

Ok no disrespect for Carmen fans but does she get on anyone eles nerves? I admit I used to have her cassette back in the day-I don't know why-and she is just not talented in the music area. I thought those songs really suxed. Ugggh and her rapping at the end of The Continetal? I just want to say "SHUT UP!!!" I honestly did not understand what Prince saw in her. I mean she didn't even have her big fake boobs then. Why was he wasting so much energy on her? To be fair she seems like a very nice person from what I have seen on her reality show and she does have a great body but in the looks department imo she is nowhere near as beautiful as Vanity,Apples, Mayte, ect. I mean they were SOOOO stunning. Carmen to me just did nothing for me. It perplexes me to this day why we the fans had to endure her!

Not much of a Carmen fan either. I think she looks average...though IMO, she wears way too much makeup. Her dancing is aight...Not much of a rapper or actress though.

And her boobs look rock hard.....Not sure what her talent or purpose is or was.....but it is just my opinion

Smooches;)

She is definately one of the least talented people that Prince has ever worked with in his entire career. I don't know who's worse, her or Tony M. The only thing I give her credit for is dancing.

She needs to be on a reality show because that's about all she's good for.

have u guys ever heard of the challenge.. taking nothing and making something out it.. that's exaclty what Prince did.. not that she is "nothing" literally.. but i do understand.. not my fave, but she definetely has a presence.. however TC Ellis.. can some one shed some light on that fiasco.. the early 90's produced a lot of garbage music from Prince's end...

U seen "go go dancer"? Girl can dance her ass off.....good dancer!

I think her rapping was alright. Nice fierce sound. Not all women who rap have to sound like Queen Latifah.

Prince really thought he had a winner with Carmen. Remember the tagline after the "sexy mf" video....."to listen to her music on a load system is to come a thousand times".....that's why I bought it!

Prince threw millions into her videos and promotion of her 1 and only album.

Also rap does not have to be deep shit either. It's to dance too not to ponder over. Some take rap waaaaay too seriously. Infact some take music too seriosuly.

Carmen not being black didn't help sales either. Plus u were in the era of gangster rap by then, so u had to look "down" etc.....luckily Carmen didn't stoop to that artificial level.

I don't love the whole album, but songs like "go go dancer" "everybody get on up" "fantasia erotica" are great tracks.....

Even her outtakes were quite good. "power from above" was proberly the best song she ever did, yet it did not make the album.

I think she's one of the prettiest, but I wonder if that's the only reason why she is so hyped because she really doesn't do much, and hasn't done anything for music or movies. I think that aerobic strip tease video is in her back-door department, although it doesn't interest me at all. I guess that's why media heads like her, they hype up anyone up with porn star persona. In VH1's driven, suprised they did one for her because she hasn't drove very far, someone said something like, 'she showed she wasn't just a cupcake anymore'---I second that...not that I dislike her, I actually do admire her 'free spirit', but I guess they are reasons for everything, as the background story from VH1 shows...also.

nod Exactly. In Prince's eyesight, she did not contribute anything talentwise except tired dance steps. All she did is provide more tits and ass in his world and thats it.

I must admit that her album is a guilty pleasure of mine. For the most part, I actually like it. In fact, I was listening to "S.T." a couple of days ago. boxed

Then again, I also like a number of tracks from Apollonia's solo CD...

At times. However, Monie was openly credited for writing the lyrics for "Everybody Get On Up" and "Step to the Mic". Monie and Tony M. probably ghost-wrote everything else.

yes Monie is credited on writing some of that crap....you have to remember that also was the same year Prince produced some tracks on Monies "In a Word od 2" album...I don't know exactly what tracks Monie had a hand in...because I never bought the album, but I do remember reading in quite a few publications back then...
