The album is superb. I definate jewel in the Paisley Park record label's crown. Not to be missed.

Seeing the price it sells at though make me pleased to have paid:
£5.75 for the vinyl from Parrot Records on 14 July 1987
and then pay
£11.99 for the CD from HMV on 9 March 1988.

Anal retentive? Me. No way... lol

Thats one of the two songs i like on there. That and "baby ur a trip".

"my man" is very underated. I love that track. Great shouty vocals that are approoriate 4 the type of song.

Plus production has them warm sounding keyboards...I love them.

Yeah, I have it on vinyl too. I've downloaded a couple of things from filesharing networks; maybe I'll be able to find all the tracks that way.

Parrot in either Chelmsford or Basildon... can't remember which.

And, "yes" I am an Essex Girl (and proud of it) before you ask! lol

Haha! Good for you!

I was only asking because I bought my Jill Jones album (and albums by Sheila E, The Time, The Family...) in Parrot Records in Canterbury. Didn;t realise they were part of a chain.

Agreed."My Man" is a perfect pop song and it's surprising that it wasn't released as a single. The lyrics are witty and fun ("just because you are the finest of your mother's children doesn't mean that you can put me down"),and the production is vibrant and fresh-sounding.In addition,it's one of the few songs where she actually sings without yelling, screaming and acting as if she's losing her mind...lol..her vocals are "controlled" on this track and she sounds wonderful.

Even though I love this album that was funny as hell.

This album is NOT worth $100. No PP album is...BUT that doesn;t mean they aren't good. The Family, Madhouse, Jill, Sheila E's 3rd album, Mazarati...all GREAT albums that deserved better attention than they got. I STILL listen to all of them all the time.

Apollonia's & Ingrid Chavez's albums suck monkey balls (but I do like Blue Limo...download that one if you can).

All Time albums are still available arent they?

I bought a copy for like 15 dollars and I'm not about to pay 100 for a CD that sounds just the same

You need to be careful with these CDs cos they have not got great sound quality just like the Prince CDs released up to 1991. I have been on a mission recently re-mastering all The Time, Jill, Madhouse, The Family, Sheila E, Jesse Johnson, Wendy & Lisa, Vanity & Apollonia 6 albums (and othe various Minneapolis artists, yes I'm talking about you Morris!!!) through some of my last remaining studio equipment.

I know I wont ever part with these poor sounding CDs cos I like to own originals but I know that I will never ever play them again cos of the crappy quality in the mastering let alone pay the stupid prices being asked for them.

Do yourself a favour and download them from a file sharing network cos if you're planning on putting them on an iPod or something similar you will have to adjust all the levels anyway to make them listenable.
