Saw an episode of HBO's porn industry special, 'Pornucopia'. This episode featured a transsexual porn actor/actress who calls himself/herself "Vanity". Get this -"Vanity's" real name is Pat Kotero. Scarier still, face-wise there is a resemblance. It's when you get below the belt that things change...

Which it is. I've noticed that person before on Pornucopia and thought maybe they were inspired by Vanity. I didn't know their real name was Pat Kotero, although now it seems to me possibly they were lying to protect their family or their private past or something like that. If I wanted so badly to change my gender that I would go to the trouble of taking hormones and having breast implants, etc. I wouldn't want a tv show I was on to dig up pictures of me as my former appearance.

Back to my main point. It's not being a jerk to misinterpret an ambiguous statement (and try to correct them, probably for that person's own benefit of being informed- we all know newbies come onto the org and say pretty misinformed things). However it is pretty jerk-like to unnecessarily rip into someone for doing so.

Maybe you yourself should have tried to "UNDERSTAND" what was going on with what "Vanity" said his real name was.....
And I believe this Vanity would be a "him".

It is not a "him". It is a "him/her". Look up transsexual in the dictionary, dude.

I don't believe they were trying to play know-it-all. I think the intention was to inform you. Remember a lot of people come to the org and say things that are wrong. Quite possibly TheDeacon didn't know you weren't such a person.
I think "Vanity" is a him because it's what's between the legs but maybe you're right about that.

Okay I just checked out this Vanity person's website and, with dark hair I can *definitely* see the striking resemblance to the actual Vanity. With the blonde hair..not so much.

It was also interesting to note that the graphic design on the site was purple and appeared to be a takeoff on the Prince symbol.

many of the pics were obviously posed to emulate the real Vanity and intensify the resemblance, as well.

It is amazing how sensitive people are. I admit that i thought the statement "Vanity's real name is Pat Kotero" that what was being said was OUR Vanity's real name is Pat Kotero NOT Pornucopia's Vanity. But I was not being smart. I saw that episode adn she does look a hell of alot like Vanity! She/He looks really good for being a damn man. she did say she fools almost everyone. Even my boyfriend was like "DAMN! She doesn't have big feet or hands, no adam's apple, and doesn't have hint of masculinity in her voice. It's truly amazing. I didn't know, however, that her name is Pat Kotero. Now that's some scary shit!

She looks like Mani more than anything. Definitely not Vanity. Also...that girl Julie from Survivor looks alot like Mani as well.

Okay,

I met the Vanity porn star and she looked a lot different than the woman shown in this post. She had black hair and looked a lot like Vanity. Except for her original parts, if you know what I mean. She was very nice.

The only thing I hated was that a radio station used her to promote one of their concert showcases. It was done in a really tacky exploitive way. Well, I guess she let them do that to her.
