We know that neither lady has a voice that can make angels weep but which one would you say is the superior vocalist? For me it's Vanity

Apples definately has the better set of lungs... She may not have a voice that makes the angels weep, but she has the a set of jubbles that can make a grown man cry - while Vanity has a chest as flat as Prince's (minus those 12 funny pubic looking hairs).
And lets face it, when Prince wrote songs for women back in those days, vocal ability had NOTHING to do with it (so i'm guessing that while Vanity was as flat as a pancake and couldn't really sing, what she COULD do with her mouth was probably quite intensely pleasureable)...

I think Apollonia has a better voice because she has a sweet voice, you can understand her. Don't get me wrong I like Vanity as will but I think Vanity voice is a little not to understanding.

I have Apollonia's solo CD, and it's not a bad pop project. Based upon it, I believe Apollonia's voice is superior to Vanity's...quite a bit, actually. She's no Whitney Houston vocally, but she can definitely hold her own.

"Samuelle" & "Romantic Voyage" by Vanity beat anything I've ever heard from Apples.

I thought Apollonia's solo project was a good pop effort for that time...I liked "Mismatch" and "Synchronize" "Since I fell for you" and "The same dream" had that little latin freestyle vibe about them.

This reminds me of a Special Olympics competition!

They have distinctly different voices.
Vanity's voice is deep and throatier (no pun intended ) and more sultry.
Apples voicer is higher and sweeter in tone. But I would pick Vanity.

Vanity is the better vocalist,but that's not saying much,since neither of them could be considered top-notch singers.

I've only seen Vanity (as "Vanity 6") perform live... I wish I had seen Apollonia live so I could compare both of them from the standpoint of their "live" performances. Anyone out there see both of them live and have an opinion on the matter?

I dig vanity's "Vamp" vocals. Sometimes it makes me wat to laugh, but I still dig them more than vanity. i really need to get a CDR of her two solo albums

I love Samuelle too.

It's hard to choose one as better than the other, because they are soooo diferent stylistically. And I love them both. That said, I think I have a slight preference for Vanity. They oughtta do a duet!

Yeah, I remember that. I love that performance and what she does with her eyes. That was some kind of Motown special. She wrote all her own lyrics on that first album, and you can hear many references about Prince.

I'm wondering if anybody saw the Apollonia 6 performance on SIEMPRE EN DOMINGO. It's a show out of Mexico. It was crazy. I have to pull it out. I'm pretty sure they were lip synching. I don't remember details. Sex Shooter and Blue Limousine were performed.
