I have heard mixed things about the CD Prince produced for Chaka Khan "Come 2 My House. I was wondering if you guys would recommend buying this CD.

Yes! I highly recommend it.It's a great album with many highlights...

"The Drama"---a classic slow jam with Prince on backing vocals!
"Spoon"---intoxicating funk number
"Come 2 My House"---haunting title track,with a wonderful jazzy arrangement
"This Crazy Life Of Mine"---simply beautiful ballad


It's worth it for those four songs alone! Chaka sounds heavenly throughout,and the songs are strong and focused.It's her most inspired solo album since 1981.

yes..but dont expect a perfect album...there is some crapfanstastic filler on it...


but like davideye said, theres some classic stuff on it too....

Bought it when it came out and listened to it twice, I think. Not really awful, but a bit uninspired. It goes for under a dollar on eBay all the time, so worth picking up at that price.

Excellent Prince worked the hell out of Chaka
on Democrazy. Don't Talk 2 Strangers is wonderful

Should give it a try.

I haven't listened to it much but I didn't like it at all. I liked GCS 2000 much better.

Chaka´s album on the other hand is fantastic.
It received glowing reviews , DMX called it his favorite album during a Vibe interview, and the production is tight. A lot of non - Prince fans think it´s a brilliant album. People keep asking me for it .

Some of my favorite cuts on it are Hair and I remember You.

I liked parts of Come 2 my House but just a few tracks, major filler indeed.

I don't like the whole album, I only like a few songs on it. I absolutely love the slow jam "I Just Found Somebody 2 Love". "Love 4 1 Another" and "Eyemagettin" were decent and maybe one other track. I haven't listened to Chaka's album in ages but I can't remember liking any of the tracks on it.

I have always thought it's great. It's been called plastic, but I think the production is better than Emancipation and the songs are better than New Power Soul. Of course there's a bit of filler.

That's 6 great songs and the rest aren't bad, either.

The only one I don't listen to is The Drama. It's a good song, but the beat that Kirky J gave it hurts my head.

The best of the New Power Pack might not say that much, but it is that and more.
