Okay... I just watched The Family's performance at 1st Avenue and... I just finished watching The Family's very first public performance at 1st Avenue and they sounded great despite being so new as a group at the time. I noticed that the audience didn't seem to appreciate their performance as much as I had expected. Was the 1st Avenue crowd always that "lukewarm" toward new talent? [Edited 12/8/04 18:12pm]

that family performance bored the shit outta me... they do one kinda of a "segue" with stops, and u can hear prince kinda go "wooooo" in the background.

I thought the vocals and instrumentation was great but their stage presence seemed very akward and strained. Susannah and the gang breaking into some type of religious fervor over Eric Leeds horns was probably the most painful moment when it came to stage antics. Still, I thought they sounded great beyond that and the audience didn't seem to know what to make of the group.
Susannah looked way hot BTW

Susannah looked way hot BTW What part are you referring to? You mean when they get on the floor and stuff? I just thought they were trying to be like Prince. I think they were awesome.... especially High Fasion and Mutiny...although I dodn't really get the Pink Panther part. What's amazing is they sounded even better at the Family Jamm. 17 years later! Someone told me that Susannah and Wendy's brother Jonathan, who died tragically years later, is playing kekyboards at that show at 1st aveneu. I htink he's the one with the longer hair. Who's the other keyboardist?
