Mazerati

Does the Mazerati album exist on CD? If so, where can I find it?

I love the Mazarati LP, it's one of my favourite Paisley Park releases.

The CD goes for crazy money, my trusty vinyl will do me fine till I encounter a miracle and find it it in a bargain bin lol

Good luck. Tried that luck for 15 years and then it appeared on the bay....through my own recordseller :grummmmmpphhhhh:

The vinyl appears to have a skipping thing going on on all versions I heard the last few years.

01 - Player's Ball
02 - Lonely Girl On Bourbon Street
03 - 100 MPH
04 - She's Just That Kind Of Lady
05 - Stroke
06 - Suzy
07 - Strawberry Lover
08 - I Guess It's All Over

It's a great record, I'd say Lonely Girl on Bourbon Street and 100MPH were the worst 2 tracks, and that stretching it, since 100MPH is a great little track.

Everything from track 4-8 is fantastic Class A 80s funk/pop.

Their 2nd LP (on Motown right? - I only have the bootleg) is nowhere near as good.

Prince's only input was 100MPH (He also offered Jerk Out, and we all know the story with Kiss!) - He also re-wrote the lyrics to Strawberry Lover (Originally 'Fear The Shadow') and I Guess It's All Over (Originally 'We Did Things Our Way')).

This is definitely one of the more obscure, yet worthwhile discs to obtain. With the appropriate PC software, and cord, I digitized my vinyl version into MP3s. Can we talk about satisfaction?! Now it's on the iPod esp. for late night subway waits! YES YES, life is good.

Incidentally, this project/band was intended rock, check out the guitars!

The 8 minute 12" version of PLAYER'S BALL is some seriously wicked funk! Brownmark in full flight with that one, a classic album.

A friend in SYDNEY recently $old his original CD for $300!!! Ouch! It's good, but it ain't THAT good... wink

Oh man,the bass on this song is just wonderful! Is that BrownMark playing? This song is so good that Prince should have considered "stealing" it for one of his own albums. It's a clasic Minneapolis slow jam!!

I always treated her right, and my feelings for her were strong
she made it with my friend,he's like my brother thick and thin
I cannot take a chance on it happening again
I thought our love was kinda strong, but I guess I was wrong

I guess it's all over...I guess it's all over again

Really?? I need to drag out my Brownmark from wherever the heck I put it...at least I think I have one. Or maybe it's the LP. I know I used to buy every related artist Icould find. What's the name of the album? cuz I think he had more than 1 (I have one at most... and might even be just the 12")

Brownmark did a great job with Mazarati. I loved his "Just Like That" album too, not too crazy about the "Bang Bang" album though, it was kind of weak.

'Just Like That' is filled with catchy pop hooks. I agree his second album was a bit of a letdown.

I had the honor of catching Mazerati in concert around 1987.They took no prisoners.Their cover of "America"blew the doors off the place!Their look and energy reminded of Prince and The Revolution during the Dirty Mind era.
