I'd also love to know what's the deal with (some) people seemingly continually attempting to seek out *in everything Mayte does nowadays* some aspect that she's trying to 'cash in' on having once been married to Prince or that everything she does/says relates to that in some way. It's like some kind of witchhunt mentality. A couple people around here act as if she threw a hissyfit or had a breakdown on that show just b/c she had to show a P video and suggested that maybe she 'get out of the business' if she 'couldn't handle it'. ??? WTF did that rationale stem from? Didn't sound to me like she couldn't handle it - sounded more to me like she's a normal woman who was placed in an uncomfortable position due to the crassness and boorishness of her moron co-host. Some people rag on Mayte and treat her like she's weekold dog sh*t merely because they're so obsessed with Prince that they think he's perfect and could do wrong so therefore Mayte HAS to be the evil one that ruined their marriage and "hurt Prince". Please. Lyrics to songs? Eh? Not sure what I posted has to do with lyrics to songs. I'm talking about things that actually happened. And my post has nothing to do with the loss of their baby. People drag that tragedy out everytime someone says she's anything less than perfect. I'm more than sure that was a real rough patch for her. But that donesn't mean everyone has to sympathize with every uncomfortable situation she's put in when it pertains to Prince or Tommy Lee for that matter. . She still is a human being, she was young, stupid and naive when she met and was with Prince. She settled down WAY too early in life and had and LOST a baby WAY too early in life. She never got over it and Prince didn't want to deal with it. Ultimately, it led to the marriage's end which sucks, but nonetheless, it happened. She cheated on Prince and Prince was pissed. No one has ever came out and said this, but from Prince's music and her going out all the time and pissing off Prince, she was totally rebelling from her life and tried to excape the pain she never confronted(same with Prince) She's a total bitch for doing it, but she doesn't deserve to be villanized for the rest of her life. She's paying for the big mistakes she made with her career now. She'll probably be teased and ridiculed from ppl for the rest of her life and she will ALWAYS live in the shadow of Prince. I doubt she'll ever be successful in Hollywood, but you never know. Please. There it is! I was not into Prince during the period when he was married to Mayte, so I don't really have any opinion on which Mrs. Nelson is/was "better" for Prince. It just bothers me when people just DOG her so badly and yes I do feel bad for her because she lost a baby, I feel sympathy for them both. And it just seems like some people kick a person who has already been kicked around enough. She is the underdog and some people are protective of underdogs. I am one of them. I just always assumed since prince was a known womanizer, in fact infamous for being a womanizer and Mayte had EVERYTHING to lose by cheating on her rich, powerful husband... that she would not be foolish enough to cheat on Prince. I always assumed it was the other way around and that Prince's reasons for stepping out of the marriage was that HE couldn't deal with the pain of a loss child and trying to put effort in the marriage, it would be just easier to trade in the old ride for a new one... (pun not intended...  I think!  )

I think Mayte handled it well. Why throw a tantrum and say Im not going to introduce this video. And why lie and say u like the video when it's about fidelity and the woman who Prince let come between Him and Mayte. Refusing to show the video says she's not over him. She may miss the man she was married to,but she's moved on.
And she shouldnt stay out of the music business just because Prince is in it. She was in the business b4 she met him. She's always done her thing b4 Prince,during and after Prince Mayte did not cheat on Prince. Prince got with Mani while she was in Spain. He couldnt handle that she has family & friends and likes to be with them & have a life. He wanted a woman that would be all about Prince 24/7 and he saw that in Mani Hell yes he misses Mayte,Mani is just a substitute for what Mayte couldnt give him. Prince was becoming a different man before Mayte's eyes,how can u maintain a relationship when there's so much change going on.
