So tell us more about the show Girlbro!
And I think this thread has become really rude and obnoxious, not to mention sophomoric and superficial. PS, Susannah is the first woman Prince ever asked to marry him. I think she is physically beautiful, but for some I reason I alywas felt there was something about her, a deeper kinda thing, and apparently Prince saw it too cuz he asked her to marry him, not Susan M. or Jill or Vanity who are all beautiful women too. It's weird cuz we barely heard or saw much about her back then, but for some reason I always felt like you could tell she was a really cool, interesting, person, in addition to being really physically attractive. At any rate, making fun of someone's looks on here seems really childish (and in this case just stupid since it's not true), especially someone who was so close to and contributed the music of the man that this website is dedicated to. Call Cat Glover and Nona flat out ugly, say Susan Moonsie had a mustache and it's ok, their just expressing their opinions. Also I have about zero interest in Mani/Mayte so I probably wouldn't read threads about them anyway. In this case, the thread title was simply a person's name, and someone I always liked and respected, so I started reading in it. But to your comment, I think calling ANY of these people ugly or whatever is childish. Of course there's freedom of speech, but personally I don't see the point of insulting others that one has never met or have a reason to be angry at. Peace. |

[Edited 12/16/04 18:36pm] Well, not much to tell that has not been mentioned elsewhere. It was Hot as hell in the Roxy and sweat was everywhere on stage and off! Haa! But really Sheila was fantastic as were her guests ( I left prior to seeing Mr Tyson, thank goodness) I must say it was hilarious to see Sheila,Wendy and Sus forgetting the words to 17 days as well as some of Kiss. You could tell that it wasnt rehearsed. Wendy wasnt sure if she was going to play or not when SOS asked her. Sheila was seranaded by her background ground singers including her Mgr Lynn Mabry. They were both VERY touching and you could tell Sheila was deeply touched and brought to tears.Her percussion playoff with her family was nothing less than spectacular! I must say, if Sheila is 47, she never showed it. She played harder than any percussionist I have ever seen!!! I consider myself lucky to have seen the Escovedo family at their best! The show was extremely long and was hard on those not seated. But overall it was well worth it!! A great time was had by all.....besides we sweat off a few pounds too!

Most of the comments mentioned about the other women were in threads about ex-girlfriends/bandmembers, etc., not invidual people. Never said anything about Mayte, no idea why she was even mentioned. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In regards to Mani making the list; I recently put her there. Mani has come a long way and she has a natural beauty and stylish sophistication that has become more evident lately. I never really understood Prince's fascinatin with Susannah and I am more than happy that he did not marry her. I'm solely basing my assumption on looks alone, because none of us acutally know what type of people they really are. That said, Mani is running circles around Susie, and I think Prince would have been highly disappointed with 2004 Melvion. To everyone: I don't think Susannah is losing sleep of the comments-good or bad-made of her. She seems happily marry with two beautiful kids and that is likely her focus nowadays not trying to fit into anyone's else beauty preference. To Gary MF: Chill my brother. People have the right to say how they feel as long as they don't violate the posting policy, and I don't recalled criticizing Susannah's looks doesn't violate the rules. btw, sorry i should have posted this reply in a different spot You so lucky of seeing Wendy at the show. I heard that she gave Sheila E. a big kiss on the lips when they performed kiss. It appears to be that you know her personally. So how come Lisa wasn't there any idea? I be hearing more of Wendy than her nowadays. I was expecting another family jamm this year and i would have went this time. Oh well I hope Sheila e plans another one like that in the future. | |

Umm, because I wasn't arguing (then). Why don't you look at what I wrote? I said it's all a matter of taste (meaning we each have our own likes, etc... You can't argue away someone else's opinion on beauty) and then followed it up with my own opinion. You're the one who decided to write a term paper on why Susannah was the wrong choice and you couldn't believe I could pick her. I don't think she is that sexy but she is good looking. Prince has definatly had sexier conquests but I think he liked her for more than her looks I think she intellectualy and spirtuatly engaged him but unfourtantly he couldn't keep it in his pants so he lost out on a good thing and then whined about it in "The Beautiful Ones" and "If I was your girlfriend". | |

I think Susannah was just an average looking female. He has definitely had much more beautiful women since her. He is now married to a very beautiful woman and from seeing many of his pictures with Mani, he definitely looks happy and at peace with himself since he married her. Basically, who cares what Susannah looked like then or the comments she makes about his other girlfriends after he had her--her negative comments about his past girlfriends just sounds like "the green monster called jealousy" to me.
He has had so many women after her, it's a wonder he remembers her name. Anyway he is definitely married to a very pretty woman and looks like this time he has found his soulmate. Peace y'all!!!and Happy New Year!!! | |

True he may be happy now but I remember when everyone was gushing about Mayte and and him being soulmates. I had much higher hopes and actually belived that he was going the monogomy route when they got married. Well we all know what Prince does when cochie stares him in the face. It just pisses me off that he cheated on Mayte. She is so wonderful. When Mani's skin starts become less tight and her boobs start sagging he will get board and move on.
