Like a lot you, I stayed up way too late (it's 3:15am) to watch So'T. I have the VHS tape somewhere, still. I spent hours scrutinizing that movie at the tim. It was just so electric to me. I wanted to be Cat.

Which brings me to my question... Does anyone know what Cat has been doing for the past decade since So'T? I"m really curious to know. She had some great magnetism as well. The camera really loved her.

Any ideas?

Since SOTT she went on to work with a little known artist called Prince, on a very small club tour called Lovesexy



Just kidding, after the Lovesexy tour she decamped to England to launch a solo career and released the song 'Catwoman' (if not more, I'm not that up on Cat).

After that, I personally can't remember.

She was working on solo stuff with Prince that pretty much was left unfinished, but giving the time frame, you can imagine it sounded like the rest of the 1989/90 stuff. - There were a few songs, Cat Scratch comes to mind, and of course A Man Called Jesus, which was released by Mavis Staples on her PP/NPG album - The Voice.

i think the last i heard from someone on the org was that she saw prince and mayte together and told him that they didnt look as good together as they (cat and prince) did. and i think that was the last of her involvement with paisley park!

not sure how that fits into the time frame of things though but thats the last i heard

I heard about 5 or 6 years ago in a magazine, she was a clothes designer.

I met Cta, in Soho square, just after the Lovesexy tour. I was walking one way, she the other, it was a lovely sunny day, and I couldn't believe it was her. So I just thought, 'for God's sake, just ask her about the whole Prince experience'. She was on her way to a video suite in Soho with Tim from Bomb the Bass to do some video editing or something.

She spoke to me for about 5-10 minutes and she was thrilled to have been recognised and talked loads abou the tour and all things Prince. In fact, she had just got off the phone that morning having spoken to Sheila E... it was a highlight for me to meet her.

She was so very fit and looked stunning!

Now you mention it, what does Cat do in the Lovesexy show other than shake her booty and do the rap from Alphabet St?

I thought everyone that leaves P. camp ends up falling into religon and becoming a priest or a nun?????

As I recall... she sang alot of "live" backing vocals as well.

Plus, she choreographed the whole show, which is pretty damned impressive, considering the length, number of bandmembers, and in-the-round staging!

Yeah that happened at The Beautiful Experience show which she coreographed. The album with Catwoman on also had a track called Jack Talking I think featuring Mr Nicholson whom she met during the run up to the Batman project. The album was shelved in the end. The last time I saw her was on some show on TV in the nineties where she danced to Erotic City.

Ummm - thank you for saying this! Seems to be true. That pic of Denise Matthews crying/sobbing up on that stage for christ kind of gave me the chills - and not in a good way.
