Robin Power Appreciation Thread

Ok, call me crazy but i thought Robin Power was HOT and definitely had potential to be one of the best female rappers of our time. Her song "Number 1" just flows. This is the background music on my answering machine. He role in Grafitti Bridge was WAY underrated. She was probably the best actor in that movie(next to Mavis Staples). Does anyone know if she had a album. I have searched on the net but can't find anything.

How could you not like Robin Power? She was very attractive and talented. I know we did not get much of her except during the Grafitti Bridge era, but she showed a lot of promise. Does anyone recall seeing her in Ice Cube's video "Today Was A Good Day?" She was the one he slept with then pushed her head to wake her up to take her home. I'm not saying she IS the best female rapper but she had potential to be the best as well as a good actress.

besides her video hoeizms she did have a presence about her even in Graffiti Bridge.....One of the best female rapper's.....I won't go as far to agree with that, but it would have been intresting to see where her career would have went be it Prince or whom ever put more intrest into her. I remember reading around the same time Graffiti Bridge came out,one of the magazines, can't remember? did a article on the women of Graffiti Bridge and it featured stories on Jill Jones,Ingrid Chavez, and Robin Power....it had mentioned Robin was supposed to be in an all female rap group Prince was forming called The Uptown Dames, does anyone remember this? also if anyone has any pics they could post of her? that would be cool....not a big fan of GB the movie so I kind of forgot what she looks like.

I have to admit one thing, P knows talent when he sees it. I mean, no one could have played the role of Morris Day's girlfriend in GB better than Robin Power

Also that scene where she was dancing seductively for Morris Day at his place showed she could be just as good of a dancer as Cat, Mayte and Carmen Electra

THIS IS NOT A JOKE THREAD!!!!

This time i am serious. I really like Robin Power. Like i said, she may not be the best female rapper, but i think she had POTENTIAL to be if she had been given a chance. I know this is a case of the boy who cried wolf because of all the other joke threads, but i am serious this time.

It's from 1994 and out of print, but it should be easy to find on ebay or something.

I just remembered that Robin Power was also in the Sexy M.F. video as one of the women that was with Levi and Mike B. but left with P and his crew at the end

Do you think he chose to work with Robin because she resembled Cat? I thought they were the same person at first actually. Because they look alike, sound alike, dance alike. It seems like all of Prince women look alike. Appolonia,Vanity, Susan Moonsie, Sheila E., etc.

the "Bust a move" video....I believe if I remember correctly she has black spandex shorts, a leather jacket and sunglasses on or on her head...and she is dancing on some stairs....

does anyone remember when she was on Yo! MTV Raps this was around the summer of 92 when Dr.Dre's "The Chronic" album came out....she was there with Snoop,Dre,and all of them.
