jesse

I'm copying a Jesse videotape that incl. promo vids and live stuff and it is just so much fun to watch.I hadn't watched this in quite a while. Very cool stuff that I need transferred to dvd.

In one scene,Jesse is on video soul and he's performing "black in america" and when the song ends,he starts to rev that baby up and you see he wants to blow the roof off,but kinda' remembers where he be at and stops. This is s shame .

By the way, if any of you really digs Jesse, then you dig the Yankees. Jesse wants you to root for the Yankees. If you don't,you are not a true fan of Jesse's.

You've got a hell of a tape there. I'd love to see that.

I've been doing some research on Jesse.I found this site with all his discography and it's pretty cool.I also found a recording institute's site with info on Gerry Hubbard and I didn't know he wrote some of Jesse's songs.I also didn't know that Jesse beat Prince out in a fight for Gerry's talents. On yet another site I found that Jesse has recently played on Rod Stewart's albums .

What sites did you find with the Jeses info? I know that the All Music Guide site is pretty informative, but I'd love to find more info on him!

I'd love a copy of that... I have *NO* Jesse material at all... Oh, except a dusty copy of Crazay from a UK music show where you don't even see it all. sad

I looked up some sales figures for Jesse. He sold quite a few albums. He did much better that I realized. Why are his albums out of print? I mean,Revue and Shockadelica sold around the million mark.Shockadelica actually outsold Revue which I find surprising.

I have Shockadelica on cd so I'm ok there. I recently was given a copy of Revue on cd!!I am very grateful for that. But these cd's should be readily available.

Jesse usually didn't use the same drum sounds as Prince. He tried to stay away from that. Although,I noticed that he has used the Linn "kuh" sound on "burn you up" and very similar to "let's go crazy" in the mix of "get ta' know ya'".

Now,on Jesse's version of "do yourself a favor" he doesn't use a linn sound, but it does sound like a Prince drum.It is like that "hollow" drum sound I've heard Prince use in that sott/dream factory period. It just made me wonder if Prince is playing on that track uncredited. I mean, that is no evidence of anything, but it just made me wonder. I know a lot of uncredited cross performing was going on at that time. Those dudes were competitors, but shared musical bonds,as well.

While at work the other day,I found a site that had pictures of Jesse's sales awards. I am really sorry, but I find these sites at work and then forget to save them or write them down. I get free moments every now and again then,I have to really focus in on some issue.

Being in Australia, the only Jesse vid that ever got any airplay was "CRAZAY", I've also recently seen the "BABY LET'S KISS" remix, but that's about it.

I love all three of his A&M pop/funk albums and worship "BARE MY NAKED SOUL".
