I watched the Special ed the other day and my god her acting was crap, and when in a scene on her own with Prince, it's even more embarrassing!

Plus Prince in first half hour-45 mins acting is rubbish too! Out of all those thousands of girls the producers saw, Apples was the best they could find? what the fuck? Jill Jones held her scenes better then Apples!


Thank god that "cherry moon" had Scott Thomas, who actually is pretty good considering and even Ingrid is miles better then Apples from "gb"!


Anyone agree that Apples cannot act and is an embarrassment? Prince in "purple rain" most the time is awful to mind u.....he does alot better job acting wise in "cherry moon" and I prefer his acting in "gb" too.....he's alot more confident in front of the camera on the later 2 movies I reckon!

Interestingly,one of the many women who auditioned for the Apollonia role was Jennifer Beals,star of the 1983 hit movie "Flashdance".I always wondered if she would have been a good choice.She's certainly a better actress than Apollonia.

Her speaking voice has no emotion! That is interesting what u said Davideye, Jennifer is alot better or woulda been alot better then Apples.....mind u how would of Vanity done? I've seen Action Jackson with Vanity in and I reckon she was pretty good givan her role!

I think it is becuase I love Ingrid's sexy voice, which I guess is her real life voice, otherwise that was particually good acting! People ragged to much on Ingrid in this movie! Just becuase they were expecting another Apples type figure.....I'm glad Prince was not this shallow! Her weird voice suits her character well, she is meant to be weird,spiritual and she pulls it off! Apples could delivered her lines so much better then she did!

Apollonia joined the cast of "Falcon Crest" (a nighttime soap) in 1985 and I think she did a few other small roles here and there,but her acting career never really took off.

I'm the first one to bash Apollonia's singing, but I can't picture anyone else in this role. She WAS Apollonia.
Let's face it - no one would have looked as good in the scene where she jumps in the lake. Jennifer Beals ? No, not enough body for that scene.
Apples was built like nothing I've ever seen and had hair and face to match.
Girl was sexy.

Yeah she is sexy no doubt, but her acting was terrible in most scenes! She just wonders form onw line to another with what looks like 0 effort on her part! Maybe she wasn't trying or I reckon maybe 'cause she couldn't act! I know u can't compare her to Scott Thomas from "cheery moon" as Scott is a pro actress, even back then it seems (she does very well considering that was proberly her first film) but even without comparing, she was/is rubbish! I know whe was mwnat to b an eniga of sorts character wise, but she was crap!

This was just a story. And Prince's characted needed a female who could at least compete with his sexiness. No skinny broad coulda done that.

I can't imagine anyone else but Apples in this role, really. No, she not the best actress, but her look fit. The body type, the face, the hair, everything. Vanity probably would have been good in it, though. thye sorta have the same look, except Apples is more voluptuous.

As far as Apollonia: I agree wholeheartedly. Funny how she was brought on as the so called "actress", but got outshined by everyone of the non-actors in the film. Wendy somehow managed to blow Apollonia away acting wise with only two centric scenes. Billy, Morris, and Jerome wiped the floor with Apples acting-wise. She got outshined by damn near everyone who opened their mouth in the movie. Clearly her recruitment for the project was based purely on visual appeal...

Look, it is great that Apollonia got the job, she was fantastic. Vanity walked out and that was her choice, however, we should always keep in mind that the role was intended for Vanity. As far as Vanity jumping in the Lake is concerned they could have had a shot of her amazing no I mean "Wonderful Ass"!!! Not all men are into massive tits. Besides Vanity looked f@#$king sexy in 52-Pick Up and Action Jackson!!!! Both woman are amazingly attractive and I for one am glad to have known of them and seen there work and success in music, T.V and movies!!!!!

Apollonia is not a shit actress at all she did a great in Purple Rain and in other movies as will. Plus for thing can't you spell her you name right it is not spelled Applelonia it is spelled like this APOLLONIA remember that next time. If you saw her in Falcon Crest, Sliders, Black Magic Woman, Back to Back, and Ministry of Venerance you would see she is not a shit actress at all. She is a damn great actress. She was the right person the roles she plays in.

The A's And B's Of Casting Reality:

A: The purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka scene was the main audition role (all males would understand, a part is won or lost on ability to please in a scene like this...)- Apollonia's ample jubbleys caught the attention of all in attendence (Jennifer Beals could NOT compete here)

& B: Jennifer choked, Apollonia swallowed...

Okay, so if I had a choice whether Apples had to sing or act - I would have to pick act. Sure, she would never win an Oscar, but at the time I think her look fit the role. The role also called for the person to be naive, which she played rather well.

I just heard a version of Manic Monday with her and Prince - and let me tell you...it was plain awful!

Okay, I know I do my part in fucking her name up ("Crappallonia") but DAMN, it seems like her name gets more fucked up errry week around here
