Mavis staples: Time waits for no one

I dug this up the other day (bought it very cheap at a car boot sale a few years back just 'cuase of my love 4 "melody cool" off "GB") and even though their r NO UPTEMPO'S on this album damnit, a couple of the songs r nice!

"jaguar" is mid tempo growling funky and "20th century express" has a great and now very dated 80's fell lyrically that I love, but these 2 below r quite superb and r by far what makes this album worth while to me:-

"The old songs"- this is actually one of the few tracks with no Prince involvement and is a sad song that really touched me and i don't even like some of the old songs she mentions! It is touching because the tune itself is quite beutiful and the words seem so real in her expression etc.....I think of my own old times, so I interpretate it in my own way! Great song!

"Time waits for no one"- the track itself reminds me alot of "Still would stand all time" (recorded back to back perhaps?) and their is a video to this song somewhere.....and like "the old songs", this is very emotive and touching as I can directly re-late to this song! The clock effects r beutiful also!

So anyone have this album and would like to comment on it? I really feel the above 2 songs alot at the mo'.....if u c this album, please pick it up 4 those 2 tracks alone!

I had this album on cassette (which I lost a few years ago) and I used to play it alot. I recall really digging "Jaguar" and the title cut.
By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!
