What ever happened to Rosie Gaines she was and still is BAD!
I've heard and seen her with him from time to time but what happened to the two of them they were like the Chick Webb and Ella Fitzgerald of the 90's what happened?

Rosie Gains is one of the best people to ever happen in Prince's band. She is my ultimate favorite and I would LOVE to see her join up again with Prince. I live in the Bay Area, and I think she is from here, but I haven't heard anything about her since she split from Prince.

Rosie Gaines is cool. I believe she is from Concord.

Yep, Rosie is IT. I used to go see her at Dock of the Bay in Berkeley, eons ago. Anyone else see her before P discovered her?

I talked to Rosie at the last Prince show at the Oakland Arena. She actually mistook me for Morris Hayes' ex-girlfriend, giving me a big hug and "how are you?" Great conversation opener!

She was REALLY sweet (and a bit embarrassed), and introduced me to her daughter, who's also a singer. I happened to have my mom with me, so it was a nice family fare. ANYway...

Yes, she's very much from here. She used to play Festival at the Lake (at Lake Merrit, Oakland) every year before she began working with Prince.

She says she's been in Europe for awhile, because she just couldn't seem to market her music, her way, here in the states. She's really hoping to come back, though!

Yeah,Rosie is from Concord seen her there perform Nothing Compares to you with him.He promised to never perform the song with no one else ever.it was a nice suprise and Rosie is a sweetheart.

rosie is a very cool and nice person, i met her last year at the prince show in oakland.....she drove her own car in and then talked to my dad and myself...was real down to earth! i think it would be great if she toured with prince in the future or entered his band again.

What happened to Chaka? Not a peep.

Rosie Gaines had sort of a big hit in England a couple
of years ago with the remix of Closer Than Close. After
that she did a litle tour in Turkey and some other countries
and as far as I know she also gave a promoconcert at the
IPC(?) in Hamburg, Germany.
I like Rosie but I think of all the singers Prince has
worked with she is the most dominant one, sometimes a bit
too dominant. There are songs that definnitely need Rosie,
like Gett Off or Diamonds and Pearls, but then again I don´t
like the version of Nothing Compares 2 U with Rosie, no
matter which version because I think it´s better when it´s
not sung as a duet. Prince´s version in La Coruna (Spain)
or Buenos Aires, Argentinia was by far his best of that
song. I like it when Prince changes his female singers from
time to time, and I really, really like Everywhere on TRC
and the opening of that song with Milenia sounds great.
Maybe it also would have turned out great with Rosie but as I said, her voice is a bit too dominant, also her appearance
on stage, so I think it´s nice to hear a different voice
sometimes. But then again, I like her a lot and it´s also
up to Prince how he incorporates her and her voice into his show/music.

I'm sorry but, I'd rather see him with Apollnia (singing off key) than with Rosie Gaines.

Rosie is alive and well working on her next musical endeavor. She informed me that she has 4 more songs to work on before her cd is produced. She is very gald to know that you guys and ladies think so highly of her vocals. I had read the beginning thread and relayed it to her. So indeed she send you all her love, and blessings. Also she said be on the lookout for the new cd. I will probably let you know when it's finished and the title so you can check it out.
