Listening to this song...I have to wonder...was this song origianlly intended to be sung by a guy?
Was it originally intended for someone else?

I c ur point, what with the "belle" 'n all!! I love the fact that she is in love with a shy passionate creature or whatever she says.....easily her best song too! Jesse co wrote this didn't he?

hmmm i have thought of that once or twice but otherwise i love this song i played it so much.. and pretending to be her singing the song in the mirror..quite hilarious

Yeah...I love the song too, it's one of my favorites from that album. But it kinda makes ya wonder

I always thought that Belle of St. Mark was obviously an ode to a woman. Personally I think both Prince,Sheila and Sussanah are bisexual. These are just observances.
