Ok, I know this is a dumb question, which I'll probably get stoned for, but who exactly is Susanah and how long did she have a relationship with Prince? Did she leave him?

Susannah is Wendy's identical twin sister.

She and Prince had a very serious relationship from around 1984-87 (or thereabouts) and at one point were engaged.

When The Time broke up, Prince installed her as the co-lead singer of the new group The Family (which included former Time members as well and Eric Leeds).

The Family broke up soon after their first gig (long story)... and Susannah, Eric Leeds, and Jerome joined an expanded version of The Revolution that toured to support the Parade album. Susannah would sing back up although she didn't appear on all dates.

If you read liner notes to Parade and SOTT you'll notice she is credited with bg vocals and maybe even co-writing some stuff.

After the REovlution broke up (supposedly in part due to increased tensions that were part of the problems in her relationship with P...he woulnd't be faithful etc.) she worked with Wendy & Lisa on their albums and projects.
