All time Prince Band Line up! You Pick em!

Man, has Prince been through alot of musicians! Five Drummers, five Bassists, 5 guitarists, 7 or 8 keybordists, and who knows how many horn players, backup singers/dancers!

So who were the best? If you could assemble a band made up any Revolution or NPG alumni, who would you pick?

Mine would go something like this.

Drums - Sheila E
Keybords - Dr Fink
Keyboards/vocals - Rosie Gaines
Bass - Levi Seacer Jr.
Guitar - Rev Scott
Tenor Sax - Eric Leads
Bari Sax - Kathy Jenson
Alto Sax - Maceo Parker
Trumpet - Atlanta Bliss

Oh yeah...and Prince!

Bass: I was going to pick Larry, but I didn't want hi singing or talking Prince into sticking a bunch of GCS stuff into the setlist. Plus, Levi can play all that Madhouse stuff!

Boards: Gotta have Fink! If for no other reason than to play the crap out of those solos on Head and When Doves Cry. I've heard that Hayes is good, but I haven't heard enough of him solo to pick him.

Drums: This was a tougher call. Sheila is more versitile IMO. On the other hand, Mike's got that heavy foot and tends to be funkier. Tough call.

Yes gotta have Johnny B'well bring the beat! Otherwise, the band he had on the Sign O' The Times tour was kicking asses and taking names. It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night proved that oh and also Charlie Parker's Now Is The Time.
I'm an org elitist... totally unapproachable.

Man, I didn't know Greg Boyer was with Prince now! I've been to a bunch of P-funk concerts and Greg was always one of my favorite funkateers! Sorry Kathy, but you gotta go!

Horns Revised:
Tenor Sax - Eric Leads
Trombone - Greg Boyer
Alto Sax - Maceo Parker
Trumpet - Atlanta Bliss

I'm going to the Prince show in Lakeland this weekend and I'm looking forward to hearing John Blakwell. I've only heard him get off a little.
